I actually have this exact mill!! It really is wonderful. You store other nutmeg in the top clear part if you have them. We use nutmeg a lot so its definitely warranted. It sits right next to the salt and pepper shaker. I've lost pieces of my finger on a microplane before (yes I am clumsy - I almost cut each of my thumbs off in the kitchen last week) so the less time with sharp things the better. I highly recommend this mill even though its expensive (and I don't think I paid $40....)

SMM - I speak Dutch! It's not pronounced "van-go" like you pointed out, but van-gock is also not really quite there either. Instead of the "ck" in "van-gock" its a gutteral sound...you roll the sound in the back of the throat. Really hard for non-Dutch speakers so I see why Van-go is the better alternative! (PS Hebrew has the same gutteral sound!)

As for Ikea, after living in Europe I can confidently say that "eee-kay-a" is the European pronunciation, but I get made fun of here, where people say "eye-key-a". So whats right is up for grabs really. I'd go with the Euro pronunciation because the company is European!

The Dutch Oven would be my favourite piece...I do make some no-knead bread (in a slightly modified way) but I'd love to try it for "real". Also that cast iron browns so beautifully so I could make really gorgeous stew which would be just perfect in winter....yum....Oh and the colour of this set matches my accent wall in my living room! :)

My personal favourite is butternut squash soup with ginger and carrot, but I think I'd be making chicken noodle soup for my sweet, but sick, James.

Yummy! The Wisteria and Lilac sounds especially gorgeous...

Oh my goodness!!! I know I'm not going to win this, but I *covet* the MS bedding - so much so that I splurged to get some pillowcases (I know, it doesn't sound like much but I'm a poor graduate student). This would just make me and my bedroom so so happy!

Wow so much....dairy-free fruit smoothies, all sorts of delicious blended beverages, nuts for baking holiday cookies oooo finally a way to make my favourite butternut squash soup and Dutch pea soup...I should stop now.
