Ideas for a Non-Princess Pink Party
Good Questions

For my daughter's 4th birthday we had a pink poodle theme since she loves dogs. She wore a pink poodle skirt and I made a pink poodle cake I saw in Family Fun magazine. There were also pink Cake Pops. Oriental Trading and other sources have a pink poodle themed birthday set and you can also find a french poodle birthday set online that would fit the pink theme.

Just read this-got up, got my cell phone and programmed the hotline number into my phone for my area. Done. Hope I never have to use it.

Oh, and I have several binders and boxes with magazine clippings and my own drawings. Not to mention the myriad of online bookmarks.

I dream of a tree lined gravel lane leading to my home where it is not visible from the road. Then, as you approach, the dappled sun coming through the trees becomes full rays as it shines down on a meadow of wildflowers with the house nestled among them. The house itself is post modern architecture using simple materials, metal, wood, concrete, with many windows letting in as much light as possible.

I just bought one (haven't rec'd it yet) at comfortfirst.com. It did cost $6.95 and shipping to my area Washington State was another $6.95. Still less than $20

Regarding beans: I cook a great big huge pot of beans at one time, cool them and bag them in smaller portions. Then I freeze them. When I need beans, I just grab a bag out of the freezer. If I think ahead far enough, they thaw in the fridge. If not, they can be cooked frozen in many recipes, or defrosted in microwave or cooktop on low. If on cooktop, you might want to add a little water, then drain when heated through, like you do for corn or green beans. I too, don't buy canned food hardly at all and am always trying to figure out ways to avoid them, yet still have some convenience.

Keep in mind that if you have younger children who still like to bite things, they could potentially bite the edges and bite through the layers down to the old paint. This happened to our play kitchen when I was babysitting a toddler.

I have been using a $10 Diaper Duck rather than a sprayer. You use the water already sitting in the bowl to swirl and dunk the diaper, so you don't use any extra water. I have a low flow toilet, so for a very messy diaper I might dunk, flush then repeat, but that may still use less water than a sprayer. I used to just hold a corner of the diaper in my hand and dunk it, but then there is no way to wring it out without dirtying your hands or using rubber gloves. With the diaper duck, you squeeze open the "mouth" of the clamp, insert the corner of the diaper, dunk and swirl in toilet, then holding the corner of the diaper in one hand, you slightly squeeze open clamp with other hand and pull the dripping diaper through, squeezing the excess liquid out so that you can transfer to diaper pail without dripping everywhere. I hate to be a killjoy, but which cans can you use that don't have BPA lining them? Have to say, though, that I love the idea.
