Wonderful! I love the use of the single pull on your kitchen cabinets. Makes them look like furniture.

100 times YES!

I would never in a million years have my house like this, but that doesn't stop it from being just a joy to see. This has all my favorite aspects of a home: personality, humor, original art, and comfort. Truly one of my favorites. Thanks for sharing.

A big issue here is the length of stay. If you limit the airbnb rental to under 14 days then that changes things. Many places have rules that if someone lives at a location for longer than 14-30 days then they can legally be called a resident, and then everything changes. These sort of things should be less of an issue for say a weekend rental.

I have to echo the sentiment that the room is overly feminine, especially the dining room. The purples here instead of saying royal/king are too soft. I don't mind the Sitee at all though.

The other issue I find is that it seems like some of the pieces are passe trends, like the tripod spot light, and the SF street sign. SF is so rich, and it seems like there would be much better ways of getting some real SF art into the space.

Lastly, I feel like there isn't enough lights. Except for a table lamp here and there, there is insufficient task lighting, and general lighting. The tripod spot light while attractive is in appropriate where it is. Off to a corner to provide some up lighting it might work better.

I will say that I do like the touches of royal blue in the bedroom, and the generally clean aesthetic.

Put me on the no roommates list. In college I request and got a single, though I did share a living space with others, being able to shut a door and not have anyone else to deal with was such a life saver.

Now I have a room mate that is only there 3 times a week, and basically just to sleep. This is perfect for me. The schedule is set with regards to the dates, and the rest of the time the place is mine. That's about all I can handle.

Yeah, I have the Billy version as well, with the glass on top and solid doors on the bottom and really love them. As Catiaelizabeth mention, nice bound books go on top, less nice books, binder and things go on the bottom, and it works great.

Yeah, I have things delivered to my parents' place that only about 15 minutes away, or to work. I try to have only things I really need and are small sent to work, because it does put undue stress on the receptionist. It would be nice to have stuff delivered to the apartment, but I am not at the point where I want to do that.

Haha, Tiny. Now that I know the actual size, 2mil seems almost like a deal for this place.

Replace the faucet. Its super easy to change them. As many have mentioned, you can see videos of it done on youtube, but there's plenty too on sites like this old house. With regards to a new faucet it would suggest going with something tall, that doesn't stick out except for the spout. Having the pleasure of counting Jason as a good friend, and actually being in this home many times, I have to say that it looks even better in person. As someone who needs to learn to edit, I've always admired the understated cool of Jason's home.

Yeah my original thought was that you could modify the sliding doors of the ikea besta series. However the curtain panels on a rail system that Zilli mentioned would likely be an easier and cheaper alternative.

Here's an example: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CCYsRIIdaYY/T0QAhwEc52I/AAAAAAAAGKY/PJXtkJ7HT9A/s1600/track-system.jpg

I think you've done a great job. The only thing I don't care for is the desk area. Everything else is so crisp, and that skirt on the desk really takes away from that look. My guess is that there is storage down there you're hiding. My suggestion would be if budgets allow is to use base cabinets to the right, and leave a space for your legs, and use one large butcher block section to go across the top.

But anyway, otherwise its really great. Especially like the storage added in the bathroom.

As long as the closet doesn't have a door, I'm not sure how much more dangerous it is to be in it than in the bedroom during a fire. Just make sure you have smoke alarms!

With that in mind, my new apartment has a bedroom with a closet that is just too small for a bed. It would be perfect to move to the bed in there. Could easily hold a toddler bed, but I have no toddler.

This probably has more to do with the camera and the lens on the camera.

If you have a fairly fancy camera, look for iso settings. You can turn the iso up and it should let you take brighter pictures in dark rooms. Don't turn it up too high because then the pictures will be grainy. Most cameras will also have settings for increasing the exposure a bit.

If you aren't using a fancy camera, look for a fireworks setting on your camera. This will let a lot more light in. However you'll want to use a tripod and also the timer so that the camera is perfectly still when it shoots.

Finally, there's a lot you can do after you take pictures using something like photoshop, gimp or even iphoto that will let you brighten up the pictures after the fact.

I would have totally kept the old tile backsplash. The new one is kind of boring, and could use the quirky vintage tile.
