we've never used a potty - my daughter has always gone on the toilet and sits sideways on the regular seat. even in restaurants. we just make sure she thoroughly washes her hands. super easy and simple. i am amazed at how few gadgets we have used for her.

to defend the article, some of us from canada can actually (barely) afford a summer cottage.

this also means that suggestions for 2K chairs are unnecessary and definitely not useful in any way.

i also disagree with point #2 about using what you already have. new bedding is a great way to lift up an old house and give it some air. as are new curtains. god is in the details.

so far i haven't seen any revolutionary advice on this topic. sure coordinating your organizational tools and getting rid of clothes is a nice idea, but i have 1 small closet and one dresser that i have to share with my husband. i also live in canada where we have a saying that if you don't like the weather, just wait 20 minutes, which basically means that i have to at all times have handy winter-summer combos available. boo.

Small is not the issue - but they are doing it all wrong by using a regular sized kitchen to do it in. And why would they not use the vertical space in any way!?

This is a fantastic design dilemma and I hope there is a designer out there who could see this as an advertising opportunity and give these two a freebie!
