Looks like my dish rack every nite after dinner :D

Except I tend to stack even higher with more precarious pyrex glass items. I secretly enjoy the challenge and yes even the occasional disapointments I hear from the livingroom ....*!cRasH!*

I had the same issue when i moved into my San francisco, 100 year old Mission neighborhood apartment.

I went to a salvage yard and was able to find a cool, German vintage spout w/hot-cold knobs that threaded into only one hole. The other empty hole I installed an under pedastal soap dispenser. I did all the work myself after a quick stop to a hardware store. It was actaully quite easy.

So start looking for a faucet that only uses one hole, which unfortuantely seems to be quite uncommon.

If you get a chance take look at this skymall parody. I glanced through it at Books Inc. in the Castro. And laughed so hard my latte came out of my nose....more than once. And I am not someone quick to laugh out loud.

Thanks! So much for the generous feedback.

I agree the plant needs to be fuller...I am OK waiting for it to actually grow into the container.

I have had the plant since a single 4" clipping! Any chance someone can identify it for me? It literally has year-round, sticky, tiny red flower and is completely covered in sharp, narrow thorns.

On a side note... the original IKEA 'Docksta' table was from Craigslist ($20) and the pot was a street score in my Mission neighborhood.

What kind of place do you live in that wont even letyou change a simple ceiling fixture.

I say just do it, ANY pendent light from ikea is nicer that than thing.

If the land complains, he/she has to give you a chance to put back the other one.

And if he does you are out as little as 20 bucks.

I would love to be the tester for the Santoku.

I have owned the same Santoku knife for the last 25 years. I bought it as an exchange student while visiting japan with the last of my spending money. I can say that I had one before they became all the rage here in the states.

I should say I HAD the knife for 25 years. My nephew asked if he could borrow a knife to bring to a beach party. I said sure and motioned over to my junk drawer that had a few gift knives I used for such occasions. You guessed it... it was lost when he threw it away by accident while cleaning up in the dark.

To say the least I was devistated, but now I can laugh at the slim chances of him finding my prized knife that was kept in a small drawrer out of sight.

I would love the opportunity to see how a modern German knife compares to my high quallity japanese blade.

I have the fondest memories of blind testing products when I was growing up in suburban New Jersey.

I don't remember how/why my mom got this stuff, but for years my brothers and I would come home to find everything from cereal boxes, brillo pads to toothpaste with a plain white packaging labled A, B, C etc.

When the products were finished we would help my mother fill out the forms. Somewhere in the late 70's it came to an abrupt end.

I almost totally forgot about this family memory until reading this post. I plan to call my mom to ask her about this side business using my brothers and I as blind testers.

Please pick me so I can tell my mom that I am an an official tester of JIG-A-LOO!

I think most people would agree to take your focus off of the cabinets. Try some paint to tie in that orange? tile strip and some good furniture etc.

BR is the best! Great place that a DIY person can spend hours wandering around.

Most of the folks are great who work there except for the grumpy old man who is usually there on Mondays.

You'll know who I mean as soon as you meet him.

After getting locked out on the weekend with literally no way of getting to my spare keys in my apartment or getting a set form my landlord...I said NEVER AGAIN!

I have one set hidden outside of my apartment, just in guess I realize while I am in the hood and....

And a full set at work, all the way on the other side of the city. Luckily, I work at a hospital with 24 hour access. Sure going all the way to work by muni/taxi is no fun but way better than calling a locksmith, waiting around forever and paying thru the nose.

Friends with copies works as well, but they never seem to be home when you need them.

And yes I have had to go back to work twice in 1 year hahaha.

PS. HERE IS A TIP: On the keys, I hide outside of my apartment, I write a fake address on them, on the outside chance someone finds them and has way too much time/motivation figure what door the key opens on my block.

I had a simple DIY version of this at my previous flat. I bought some mirrored window tint from Kragens and stuck a cheapo bird feeder with suction cups to the outside window. It was so cool having finches etc. hanging around. But then the pigeons/morning doves found it and end of story. They were dirty and always banging on the window while scaring the smaller birds away. Those BLASTED pigeons!
