This sounds delicious but I don't have a microwave. What would be the best/easiest way to prepare the chocolate topping otherwise?

I also like Cards Against Humanity, like jeffred. It's a bit wicked/offensive but it really lets you know what kind of people your friends are!

The elderflower syrup is delicious in cocktails. I also like the rye bread mix and whole wheat moose-shaped pasta.

We made our own wedding cake, which was a carrot cake with goat cheese frosting, but we made the top layer gluten free for my husband's father. The layers were all on separate plates on a plate stand instead of touching, for ease of slicing and to prevent contamination of the GF cake. We just used a gluten-free flour mix from a box and used the same recipe as our regular cake, and people ended up liking the GF cake better. I'd definitely recommend a test cake.

The flour we used: http://www.glutino.com/our-products/gluten-free-pantry/beths-all-purpose-gf-baking-flour-us/

This looks delicious and I love that you don't cook the sauce first - I think it tastes so much fresher that way and is a good way to show off fresh ingredients.

A note, however: It's always Margherita, never Margarita. Margherita was Queen of Italy in the late 1880s after the unification of Italy when she was served the pizza that would be named for her. It's like if you called things named for British royalty Elisabettan, Eduardian, or Vittorian.

Boxed mac & cheese and top/nissin ramen. I'm a vegetarian and try to shop organic and local, but sometimes I need that comfort food.

The photos are gorgeous and I identify with Tim's style of cooking completely. I think it's a shame how quickly we eat in this country, and Italians certainly know the value of a long conversational cena with a good bottle of wine.

One thing though, I've never heard the word "mangionas" before - the Italian word for "eaters" is mangiatori so I'm just wondering where you heard that?

Goya makes a product called "Sabor de Jamon" which next to the Sazon and Salad seasonings and Adobo that they make. Adds a great smoky flavor with just one packet and is vegetarian and quite inexpensive. I always add it to pressure cooked beans and split pea soup.

I don't wear shoes at home - heck, I don't even wear socks. But you can pry my red TOMS from my cold, dead, insane, charitable hands.

I'm curious about where you get them as well. If you can't find them though, they kind of look like the faux chicken strip "Meal Starters" by Morningstar.

Definitely paint. Hang your broom, mop etc. on the inside of the pantry door, then put some art in its place. Get rid of that big trash can and put a smaller one in the pantry or under the sink. Put those boxes on top of the fridge away somewhere, or recycle them. Get a rug runner for the middle of the kitchen. Declutter the stuff on the fridge, or organize it a bit. It's a good space with definite potential, and really you don't have to spend that much on it either.

Cambria, thank you for changing it, I very much appreciate it and I'm sure you meant no offense. The article was lovely and I will definitely be trying this in the future.

To the people who think it's silly to be offended, I'm sure you wouldn't say that to the face of a domestic abuse survivor who had been brutally beaten by their husbands. Some of these survivors happen to be my close friends and it's just a needlessly violent term. I'm sure you don't believe that there's no other term for a men's undershirt? What do you think they call them in fancy menswear stores?

Yeah, I'm really interested in both taking that class and making my own kombucha, but referring to that particular item of clothing as a "wife beater" is super offensive.

I also have the Artisan Bread recipe memorized. I only make the half batch, though (6.5 versus 11 cups of flour, since we're only a two-person household). And the half batch is easily third-able for a quick baguette to go with cheese!

If you have friends "who appreciate exclusivity and only imbibe the best", then they won't drink Absolut.

Also, whiskey stones don't keep whiskey cool longer than actual ice, because they barely cool it at all and the effect is quite short lived. Their purpose is to not dilute the whiskey.
