Joan in SB:

We went with the Alex II from Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams. It has a slightly deeper seat at 36", but I was able to come up with a configuration that fit perfectly in my space. The service at the downtown Boston store was wonderful, and the quality of the piece is excellent. We chose the cotton duck slipcover in white, which launders beautifully with a little Oxyclean! This particular configuration was just under $3000 and worth every penny.

The renowned Marche aux Puces at the Porte de Clignancourt in Paris is sourced by designers from all over the world. If I were living in the South of France, I wouldn't mind a few hours drive to get there. But thanks for the geography lesson, CrazyLady!

Actually, sherbert is an alternate spelling of sherbet. Sherbet technically refers to a sweetened fruit drink (from the Persian sharbat), whereas sherbert refers to the frozen dessert.

There's a German artist who did an interesting wall display of vintage spoons: http://www.spoon-tamago.com/2008/11/18/1002-spoons/

It feels modern because the collection is vast (over 1000!) and set against a stark white background with no other adornment. Perhaps the silver spoons you inherited might inspire you to build a larger collection that could be artfully displayed along a kitchen wall. Another option is to hang them in an unexpected place like a bathroom, stairwell or mud room.
