Love many elements of this house. Big house, and very family oriented.

I agree with the above comments. It seems as if this blog is seriously taking a turn for the worse. It has become like lets just throw something together and it will be good enough for our readers.

NOTE: APARTMENT THERAPY - your readers are intelligent, skilled, and most are in professional positions and take a few minutes of their time to look for an escape, or ideas for dinner or decorating. We are not just bored with life and looking for something to fill up time. Please keep this in mind when you post articles and especially when you hire creative writers and staff. Thank you.

I highly doubt this is going to make your kid eat their veggies better. Plus, so much for telling them NOT to play with their food when you are in a nice restaurant. While it may be cute.. huge mistake to do this.

And I agree with others.. there do seem to be a lot of 'fun' kiddie food blog posts lately. This site used to be more about classy designs, tech, and fashionable taste. There are 1000s of kiddie blogs out there, we don't need another.

I was hoping by reading this to find out a way to hide actual cable mess in a 'book' not have another plug in strip that I can 'hide' in a bookshelf. It only has two slots, and usb ports, so really it isn't any more convenient than another strip.

The only difference, is instead of on a floor, or in a drawer, we now 'hide' it in a bookcase.

I would much rather have a grouping of 2-3 or even 4 'books' that can sit on my desk in plain site but hiding the mess of usb, power, & other plugs that come out of the computer and monitors.

This is just another overpriced, book shaped outlet that can be put to use when someone needs one. Not for someone who uses their computer on a regular basis. I'll pass.

I love the idea but.. I am pretty certain in my area I am the only one who reads this site, so it would probably be fruitless for me to post items for sale.

one of the large binder clips.. http://www.staples.com/Staples-Large-Metal-Binder-Clips-2-size-with-1-Capacity/product_831610 can do the same job.. easy and cheap..

if you hang them off the back of a desk they are nearly invisible.

right now i have one holding cords for chargers, as well as keeping usb cords in check..

it always works that way.. items that might have actual promise for use.. end up being more than anyone can afford.... i cannot see this at all in a home though.. too sterile.. and like one person mentioned .. if you were working from home.. this would not be comfy for very long..

that being said.. having some of these in a airport, train station, library .. could be very useful

My ex taught me how to cook rice her way more than 10 years ago, and I have never burned rice using the technique.

Cover the bottom of a quart size pan with rice. (If you can still see the bottom some.. that is one serving. About a half inch give or take is enough for 4-5 people.)

Rinse the rice a few times under warm water. (This helps wash off some of the starch and the rice doesn't stick together as bad. If you want sticky rice skip this step)

Fill with water to the level of your thumbnail above the rice. (I don't think this would work as good with long nails.. lol.. but you will learn to eyeball it.)

Heat on high to boiling. (About two minutes.)

Put lid on the pot, and turn temperature down to low and simmer 25 minutes.

Fluff with fork and serve.

I have used this technique with white rice, brown rice, red rice, and wild rice. I have also substituted the water with chicken or vegetable stock, and even added peas and carrots almonds, mushrooms, and other ingredients and it worked fine.

buy her one.. as a graphic designer.. i never thought i would use mine.. and so i tried to sell it for about a year..finally gave up and started using it.. and it goes with me to see clients, doc appts, family events, etc and just about everyone who sees it wants one..

plus.. there are lots of apps that make it better than a kindle or nook.. and its useful even to keep little kids attention.. all the way up to senior citizens.. yes, i help my dad with a church service at a nursing home.. and i take it with me.. and use it for directions, songs, and even the bible..

buy your mom an ipad or at least an android tablet.. she will love it
