I have 2 nudes hanging in my living room. By artists I know personally(all my art is by artists I know or pieces with otherwise special meaning to me.) Neither show genitals. Porn is meant to titillate, these are not; a figure drawing is far from a tijuana bible. The idea that the human form, tastefully depicted, is inappropriate is really bizarre to me. The textures are all smooth. Even if you want to keep it sleek and modern a shag rug or a fake fur throw and some natural fibers and plants(cut, dried, fake or real) will warm op the space. Black and chrome can go with ANYTHING so pick colors you love. Maybe from a favorite painting or house tour. And remember to keep things fun, a little humor will go a long way. Bepnf, I imagine she means within reason(several days.) This has happened to me before as well. Usually means the paint is old or it's too cold or humid outside, sometimes because it's going over another paint, sometimes I don't know. Lately it's been white spray paint, it just wont cure properly. I wish I could help, but beyond painting in the right temperature and humidity conditions I've got nothing. I just wrote a piece for a local zine on how not to gross out, freak out, or drive off a potential "special friend." Having a reasonably clean place was at the top of the list. The girls I talked to all agreed, at least have a sanitary bathroom(with towels,) clean sheets, and nothing overtly disgusting in the sink. As far as cleaning advice. Just 15 minutes a day can make a huge difference, assuming you can stick to it EVERY day.
