Why not? If I had a "bathroom" as beautiful as Steven Meisel's Beverly Hills bathroom I'd never want to leave! Anyone who can afford that can also afford a top notch ventilation system. Heck, I'd put a kitchenette and mini bar in there too!

I'm also curious about the sofa. Can you share the brand or store where you found it? Looking for something like it for an office / guest room in my house.

Aside from mattress protection the bunky board keeps things looking nice and tidy by preventing tucked bedding from hanging below the slats. We used an inexpensive canvas drop cloth stapled onto plywood. The drop cloth is sturdy fabric and large so no piecing is required.

We have a three section sorter for whites, colors and darks in a bedroom closet. The clothes get sorted as they are tossed in which makes it easy to see when a load of laundry needs to be done. When our kids got older they started doing their own laundry (yeah!) and had a covered basket in their own bedrooms.

P.S. If you have an old box spring to dispose of you can dismantle it and take the wood and metal to a recyling center.

We have a platform bed with metal slats, but it bugged me that tucked under bedding would sometimes hang down between the slats for an unsightly appearance. So we bought 1/4" plywood, cut in two pieces to fit our queen size bed, then wrapped and stapled a painter's drop cloth to it to lay over the slats. It also keeps the slats from getting bumped out of place when making the bed and keeps the mattress from getting indentation marks. My best recommendation is to not skimp on a mattress. Get the best you can possibly afford. You can't put a price on a good night's sleep!

We have a ribbon driveway and it has it's pluses and minuses. Unfortunately we live in the snow belt and salt run-off from our cars tends to kill the grass in the spots we park our car. It's difficult to get new grass to grow without replacing the soil first. As some have mentioned it can be difficult backing out. If a wheel gets off track when the ground is soft, as during the spring thaw, you leave a nice rut in the sod. And it can be a pain if you have more than one car. By some twisted law of chance it seems my car always has another parked behind it when I need to go somewhere. Did I say there were pluses?

In the days before loft beds we had something almost exactly like this in my college dorm room, only with doors hinged on the bottom. The twin bed sat sideways to it and could be pushed in under the bolsters to be used as a sofa during the day, then pulled out as a bed for sleeping. It was a very efficient use of a small space.
