These are very cute, and I love promoting the three-prong system (very Dave Ramsey), but I can't help feel that the first financial lesson to teach would be "don't spend $13 plus shipping on something you can make yourself." They'd make a great gift (to give or receive), but I wouldn't personally buy one for ourselves.

Last night we tossed fettucine noodles with olive oil and a touch of butter, topped it with sauteed zuchinni, squash and portabellos with shallots and garlic. SO YUM!

How odd, just yesterday I was laughing about the outlets in my kitchen. We have a small kitchen, but we must have 6* double outlets! We use maybe one. It operates our iHome and, occasionally, a food processor.

I read that bit in Houston Press, but I haven't made it out there yet. I'm much closer to DiIorio's in Hempstead. Much smaller, but they do balance local and organic fare with imported fruit/veg. Their watermelons are especially good.

My mother worked in an old, small town library when I was a kid. I love old card catalogs (the only kind, I suppose), they hold beautiful nostalgia for me.

My husband's grandmother turned her garage into a bar for her husband (who has since passed), and she has a gorgeous old librarian desk with some of these drawers. The desk serves as the bar, and they use the drawers for cocktail napkins, bottle openers, etc.

My family always eats BLTs with baked potatos, on which we use shredded cheese. The first time my husband had this meal with us, he put the cheese on his sandwich, and I literally gasped (and then laughed at myself). He said his family has always eaten them with cheese. Butter side up/down, I suppose.

And I love a good BLTA on croissant. Yowzers, that's yummy.

I blush to admit that reading these suggestions has me worried that I'm not a great house guest. I aim to be considerate, and I do not leave messes in my wake, but I'm not sure I've ever thought to strip the bed. I <I>make</I> the bed, so at least the room looks nice, but that is all.

Oh well, the more you know.

My grandmother in Shreveport has one of these. It is lovely, but it is REALLY DIFFICULT to back out of her driveway! Mostly because it is so long, and curves behind the house.
