Hmm, looks like it's wrapped tightly and acrylic yarn should wash up quite easily. If a child's not allowed to eat on top of it, should stay clean-ish for a good while.

Preferably for a less ruffian sort of kid though. Standing on top of it would do some damage.

Packing lightly for one adult hardly seems like a challenge... did plenty of travelling before kids and now I find travelling internationally with them or on a camping trip is much tougher!

I'm working it out on paper... but I think somewhere I'll pack a list of what I brought for the kids on our upcoming camping trip. Going to keep it as light as possible... wish me luck!

I love the spirit of this post... the versatile idea of family, a demonstration of how fearlessly we can make our homes/workspaces all our own - and the art glass! I thought only we cared about it. My mom started collecting it a few years before she died and we still have a lot of it around.

And the art, whew! So homey Kidd's place. Bravo.

I think the only thing I like here is David Collins groovy bedspread. I could see that in my room.

Can't imagine real bohemians can be bothered with arranging their pillows just-so... when stuff gets too stiff and fusty it kind of fails to be bohemian after a while...

Open windows & doors and let some fresh air in! That's what I'm doing today.

Hmm, using travertino here is pretty much using what's local. I don't see the problem with it. I have rough stuff and it's nice in the south of France.

This is, to me, as close as a house comes to perfection... I am striving for this sort of zen simplicity in my own home, and hope to achieve it fairly soon... Thanks for the inspiration.

I am soothed. This house is full of "matières nobles" as we say in France... good ideas and good vibes aplenty.
