Fortunately, high school drove any remaining interest in what other people think of me out of my brain.

If you don't like my Tardis cat box (or, in my case, the curated collection of Transformers in a display case in my living room), you can go right back out the door you came in.

I like it. My wife likes it. My friends like it. The people who come to my house either like it, or are smart enough to not let me catch them sneering at it.

Taste is personal. Keep it that way.

I'm sorry, what do these two services have in common? Absolutely nothing.

How do I sync my contacts with Dropbox? I can't.
How do I store a zip file with iCloud? I can't.

Why would you switch from wearing shoes to wearing pants? Probably a good idea to use them both for what they're good for.

The correct answer is "Wunderlist".

I've tried Zenbe. I've tried GroceryGetter. I won't pay for Evernote.

Wunderlist will cure what ails you.

Craftsman hand tools are fine. Craftsman power tools (anything with a motor in it) are pretty lousy.

Good luck out there.

Maybe that makes sense to somebody smarter than me.

Yeah, and right next to those absurdly priced HDMI cables are the optical cables with a gold connector shell.

(For those of you who aren't quite with it yet, gold is good at conducting electricity, but has nothing whatsoever to do with the photons that transmit the signal in optical cables. It is a scam.)

I've read on various LCD's (first my Palm III, then my Treo, then my iPhone) for years now. It's become my preferred platform for reading.

I don't want an iPad because it's too big and heavy. Kindle doesn't really solve a problem for me, and I like having one device with all the different marketplaces on it at the same time.

Maybe if there was a unified architecture for eBook sales, a Kindle would be more attractive, but I'm simply not going to rely on only Amazon (or only BN or whoever) forever for all my books. Not gonna happen.

Well, gosh, Ansela, I made a pretty good living playing video games for a couple of years. Fortunately, not everybody seems to too hung up on your ideas of what constitutes acceptable pastimes for adults.

My wife and I play video games together. If you don't think that's "productive", I guess we don't much care.

You know that just about every gadget on the planet has a power switch, right? So you can, you know, turn it off?

"I have no figures on the amount of energy (electrical or otherwise) required to produce a given BTU of heat via natural gas extraction, but I very much doubt it's less than that of electrical production."

Yeah, I'm pretty good at thermodynamics, and I want to see your work on that.

You may proceed from the assumption that electric is more efficient than burning natural gas, but absent some real numbers I'm extremely skeptical.

How long does it take to charge your device with that solar panel?

(this is a loaded question.)

Having mis-sealed more than one ziploc bag in my life, I'm plenty willing to drop a couple bucks on something that has a durable envelope and a good mechanical seal.

But, hey, it's your expensive piece of electronic gear.

Now, I think it's intolerable that we have the technology to waterproof electronic devices, and zero manufacturers actually do it.

Every time I see one of these devices, I'm amused by the fact that they don't tell you how long it's going to take to charge your phone using it.

Hint: It's probably a really long time.
