I recently upholstered two chairs for our dining room in the Alexander Henry Fabric "Leo". Throughout the process several people asked if I was going to put them in our nursery. A lot of his fabrics are large, graphic, whimsical and printed on heavy canvas.

I bought the fabric I used on ...

So great to read a post about Mueller in Austin! My family moved to this community last Spring and we absolutely love it! While still definitely being developed (phase II of V homes are just now going up), the concept is ubelievable. There are miles of walking/hiking trails, local artists have their work throughout the greenspaces, all the home builders are Texas based, etc.

The community is very tight knit and diverse with easily over 90% having school ages kids and very focused on offering activities to integrate Mueller with the rest of the surrounding East Austin communities (yoga in the park, movies in the park, walking tour guides by local Master Gardeners of the Mueller parks).

With a three/five mile drive to get to UT and downtown, it's a fantastic way to live central while still having a sense of neighborhood. Austin fans will tell you that this city is a gem and an offering like Mueller makes it that much more progressive and "in tune".

I heart Austin and Mueller!!

Wow, I've never read such angry comments. I'm with ridge_van ... give her a chance and see what she's capable of. We all deserve that much. In the meantime, let's revisit the golden rule ....

Oops! I forgot to mention a couple other options I adore besides Fanny's.

Interior Fabrics on Anderson Lane and Burnet Road is great too and I've been really impressed with the prices.

If you're looking for the mack daddy of all fabric stores and have an entire day to spend immersed in incredible fabrics, design elements, amazing furniture and overall heavenly goodness, do yourself a favor and take a trip to downtown Houston's "High Fashion Home" on Travis street: http://www.highfashionhome.com/. The prices can be steep but picture if you will four floors of wall to wall bolts of interior fabrics. One word: YUM.

GREAT post! It's true, Fanny's rocks!! I've always found things here I can't find in other place, the prices usually are reasonable and the customer service is excellent. My only word of caution ... call before you go. I've gone several times during their stated hours and it's been closed. Bummer.
