Yeah. Maternity leave policy here in US really surprised me. It was one of the few things where my home country India has much better policy than US. In India they offer 6 months of fully paid maternity leave. And thats when India has a much higher population growth rate. I think if India's developing economy can bear the 'burden' of new moms for 6 months, US definitely can....or not. I so hear you! I struggle with this all the time. Most days I end up doing stuff at my daughter's nap time, because most things aren't worth sacrificing my time with her. After my daughter was born I just went crazy about all sorts of photo gifts. So this year I got 4 calendars printed from various photo printing services..err..make that 5. My fav is one from shutterfly, it has the birthdays and anniversaries of all mine and hubby's relatives and friends, complete with their phone numbers, so I don't have to search for phone numbers when I want to wish somebody. I loved the idea so much that I got one made for my brother, and also for a friend on his b'day, they all love it.
