Very Fresh!!

The encyclopedias my kids made me get rid of, they said they can find anything on the computer that they need to,
they did use them in elementary sch, later years they said give them away, so we did.

Other new books i have given them, (son & daughter)
i made a category list of what they have now, so they would keep track of their books through the years, my daughter and i read a lot of books and magazines, and we like our bookcases very much for keeping everything organized, even tho they are the cheap bookcases, they keep everything looking nice and organized, i put all my books and magazines in the bookcases in categories only,
my son keeps his books in a roll around, if i give him many more books he will need a bookcase also, like his sister and i to keep all his books in.
My kids make their own decisions about what to read, if there are things i think they need to learn about then i buy them books so they can read and learn, and i hope they enjoy them!

My daughter also reads and looks at this site apartmenttherapy also.

I have never been to an IKEA store ever, thanks to you all, my daughter and i have received their paper catalog which we love looking through,

we love to read books and magazines, so maybe someday we will be able to go to a IKEA store, the stores by us are a ways away in Seattle or Canada quite a drive,

i have met people in person, that have been to the store and they loved it and the food also!

We had a winding staircase when i was growing up,
one time i swept, washed, dried, and wax them, very very slippery!! they looked beautiful!!
Whoops i should have warned them,(in socks) that was the last time i waxed the winding staircase.

I like that landing strip!!
because it looks like u could actually place something on there, grocery bags etc, without knocking alot of things on to the floor.

i have my small amount of books, and i am helping build my 2 kids, (son & daughter) their own reference books they can reread through the years, i try and teach them to think before they buy, and to take very good care of their books, so they will last them for years.
( i still have a few books from when they were toddlers, i think they are know as golden books ).

Because of u all, i ordered my first IKEA catalog, and i liked how it had all the books, magazines, catalogs in the pictures, like some real people, like my daughter and myself,

we do not have an IKEA store in our town too small, someday maybe i will be able to visit their store in a bigger city,

now my daughter looks at the IKEA store online,

also maybe a houseplant or two, in larger bowls/containers so the water would not drip on the books, when watered,
i like houseplants with books!!

I place my books on my bookshelves by category,
- cooking
- decorating
- finance
- gardening
- organizing
- etc.

the one thing that really bothers me, is when they put pictures/paintings up on the bookcase in front of the books,
to me, looks like the paintings should be on a wall, not cluttered in front of alot of books, (to each her own i guess) my rant for the month.
