looks similar to the lovely if pricey "flos spun" lamp. However, the shade is different. It's on my covet list... Apartment Therapy Boston | Help Me Identify This Dark Floor Lamp? Good Question |

I agree something natural to ensure it doesn't feel too industrial-cold. Even mix-matched vintage wood chairs in beaten finishes would look great...though I have no idea what your style is! I'd stay away from black as it matches the tone of the table too closely. Best! Apartment Therapy New York | Recommendations for Dining Chairs? Good Questions |

I think the house is striking as is, but I disagree with those who say do the black/white/red door scenario. It's been done. Frequently. I would want something more unique for myself. I agree with the french grey stucco color, maybe a very creamy white trim, and for the shutters, either the natural wood or a dark warm charcoal (not black). I can't tell tell the exact floorplan of the space, but if you have room to float a table in the center rather than against the wall, I would choose a non-wood tone (maybe white painted) table on a rug to break up all the brown. Perhaps consider an indoor-outdoor rug if you are concerned about the rug factor in a kitchen. There are many out there that don't look so outdoorsy. Window treatments would also really help (I'd do drapes down to the floor). Apartment Therapy Boston | Good Questions: Brighten Up This Rental Kitchen! |

A simple suggestion: grouping. Trying grouping the items you have together and allowing space between the groups. Like Spanky says, line up the shoe rack with the coats so it reads as one group. Lower the mirror a little so it reads as a separate group with the chair. Finally, create the final little group with your hook and mail organizer (maybe add another organizer to that group for additional storage). That is what I'd do differently with what you have shown. I don't think it looks awful now, though. Apartment Therapy Boston | Good Questions: Suggestions for Landing Strip? |

I have the egg light (or my twins do, I guess) and love it! But for their first birthday the each received sleep turtles from "sleep sheep and friends". These are great, too, and shut off after a certain amount of time: http://cloudb.stores.yahoo.net/ongo1.html Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | Good Questions: Affordable Shadow Casting Light? |

Your home is incredible. You have done a beautiful job of restoring it, allowing it's materials and design to speak for itself, and you have placed some personal touches on it as well. I am a designer and could move into this space as is. For me, that is something. I appreciate that you didn't do what so many do and paint everything white, then throw in primary colored furnishings. Your home has class. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | House Tour: Jora and Bryan's MidCentury Organic Remodel Los Angeles |

We've had our first "child", Cecil, our Boston Terrier for four years now and have one year old twins. The boys adore Cecil and have even learned to play fetch with him, and give him kisses. We've had to watch the following: baby toys (many toys are similar to Cecil's "babies" he has always played with, so we now have to limit his toys to outside time to prevent the destruction of baby items), keep an eye on bottles, binkies, etc (Cecil really likes to lick these items...ugh!), and kisses (my boys like to get right in Cecil's face, open their mouths and let Cecil "kiss" them...again, ugh! yuck!). But I think they will have really wonderful memories of growing up with Cecil, and he has brought such joy to our lives, and many laughs. The key is to supervise! We bought a stainless steel-topped table from West Elm on sale years ago and it is THE best thing with kids! We also have plastic chairs (Alias Segesta) that are in my opinion the perfect design for kids. The arms kind of trap kids in! I agree about the dog thing. Our Cecil cleans up the mess before it hardly touches the floor! Except for some vegetables... Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | Design Lesson: Kids in the Kitchen |

Regarding the buttons: I use a large square jar/canister for these buttons, and I love that it looks sculptural and colorful, and is ever changing. It doesn't have to be hidden away like so many other things. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | AT on...The Lure of Getting Decorginized |
