Would love to see the Stunt Brothers get funded. They have already produced a portion of the line at their own expense. They are high quality and look like so much fun. A New Crop of Kickstarter Projects for Kids |

I purchased this rattle for my daughter http://www.etsy.com/listing/62743997/wooden-toy-baby-rattle-honey-dipper?ref=shop_home_active . She is now 4, and she still uses it to make music. It is beautiful, has a great sound, and will last for years, If you encourage shaking for rhythms, rattles can have a longer playing life, and wood rattles really are great heirlooms. I am saddened more people don't think so. April Showers Bring Baby Showers: Great Gift Toys |

Love, love, love that these rooms look lived in. They may be staged for photos, but at least they show the clutter, collections, and creativity bubbling over. As much as I love a simple streamlined orderly room, the reality is that life is always brimming around us. This appeals to my reality and shows that lived in can still look beautiful. We had a similar "try it on" policy, but you kept on everything that was wearable until we were finished opening gifts. In addition, I took over the tradition my mother's sister started in their family growing up, decorating myself in all the bows and package trimmings. I hope your negative commenters aren't any of my friends. I have been living overseas for the past few years and I have two little ones. I feel accomplished if I keep my house semi-clean and a super success if I showered that day, but I always make an effort to send Christmas cards. In the past, I always wrote out addresses/return addresses. I included a personal note on every card, and my list is large. Before having kids, I usually sent 200+ cards each year, as I have moved a lot and kept in touch with people over the years. Now that I am living overseas, I order my cards and have them sent to my mother. I send her a list to print labels. Is it a "production line"? Yes. Do I wish I could spend more individualized time on them? Yes. Could I buy cards here to send? Yes, but much more difficult not being a non-Christian country. Could I to everything by hand here to send? Yes (though at 3-4 times the cost and I can't guarantee they would be done before March). But, sorry, this period in my life doesn't allow it, so it is this or nothing. I hope my friends recognize my sincere desire to show them I am thinking about them amidst the chaos of life. I love the print/papercut? of the silhouettes of children playing. Great piece. Fun nursery that is pleasant for adults, but full of the spirit of childhood. A Nursery Waiting in Walla Walla My Room |

@wixson - I have considered the toy portrait, too. Especially in the case that the beloved toy may be lost or is in a state of disrepair that can't be salvaged at some point. Creature Comforts: Framing Childhood Lovies |

Love all the additional suggestions, too. I like song lyrics, usually from my favorite less well-known songs rather than the more overused popular songs. Words To Live By: Prints & Posters |

I love the sheepskins, but I noticed that they are now considerably thinner than they used to be. We bought one 2.5 years ago that is much thinner that one bought a few months ago. My Latest List of 5 More (Non-Furniture) IKEA Must Haves |

P.S. A printed book also takes up less room on a shelf than a photo album. How To Create a Family Yearbook: Controlling the Chaos of Digital Photos |

I love the advance of digital photography. I know some people feel sticker shock when they think of printing a $100+ book, but that is actually GREAT when you think of what the cost used to be for photo albums. You had to buy film then you had to print the photos, only to find that heads were cropped off, blurry, random shot of the ground, and only 6-8 useable photos. Then you bought some sort of album to put it all in. So, in the end $100 for a year's worth of photos that you know are ones you will want to look at again and again, is pretty reasonable in my book. Was discussing LEGO yesterday with friends and came to the conclusion that one of the reasons we love them so much is that they are virtually indestructible (the bricks at least). Some people complain about the cost, but we have LEGOs that are 30 years old that look almost new and can be used just as much now as before. One friend quipped, "When the world ends, all that will be left will be cockroaches & LEGO." Minimalist LEGO Ads Return to Their Origins |

Love the pillows, love the mural, love the dresser, love it all. Am I missing the ABC prints? Or are they just not in one of these pictures? I am sure they are just as rad as the rest. Westley's Modern Colorful Rental My Room |

P.S. I agree with Mombat. The Poang doesn't fit the bill for nursing. The wood arms are killer on my bony elbows and also not friendly if you decide to sit cross-legged. Is a Glider or Rocker a Nursery Necessity? Nesting a Nursery |

I had the good fortune of inheriting a chair from my grandfather that had belonged to my mother as a teenager. It is great for small spaces because it has a small footprint but rocks. It has legs but has springs & hinges where the legs join the rest of the chair, so it does have a rocking motion without needing as much room, plus, it doesn't slide on the floor while rocking because of the legs. That being said, both of mine didn't like to rock much, so it was only used for rocking while nursing. I have done quite a lot of pacing instead, so I should have invested in some good walking shoes. I think including prices of everyday items is surprising: loaf of bread, gallon of milk, gallon of gasoline, can of soda (or a Big Gulp), price of a movie, subway ticket (if you live somewhere where public transportation is common), price of a CD (or mp3). You could even include the price of an average home or car. A First Birthday Time Capsule |

From the time I was 10, we started an incentive program in my family. We were allowed 10 hours of TV watching a week. That included Saturday morning cartoons, Sunday evening movie with the family. If we kept under the 10/wk for an entire calendar month, we got a bonus added to our monthly allowance. TV Time: What's the Magic Number? |
