I would add the Anglepoise Type 1228 to this list. With all the amazing colors it comes in + the impeccable functionality that you need for a decent task lamp, it's hands down my favorite. I got two for my husband's and my desks - pink and green - and we couldn't be happier.

Nine out of ten of these are from Austin. Why? A bit disappointing for representing a state as big as Texas. Would be nice to start seeing Texas home tours from other places in the Lone Star State - Dallas, San Antonio, Houston, East or West Texas, the Valley...

with major furniture purchases like beds, i would avoid both crate & barrel and west elm. neither is exactly cheap, so it's not like you're going for just a good deal. for what you're paying, you're not getting quality. i waited for several months looking for our bed and finally got to snag a mitchell gold + bob williams bed on a floor sample sale for less than either west elm or c&b would charge. it's really worth holding out for floor sample sales vs. paying sticker price for something that's significantly less quality.

yes, i echo the all the comments above, regarding the awesome job and the concern about the TV. TVs in any bedroom, adult or child, are just not a good idea for a host of reasons. bad for sleep hygiene, bad for study/academic problems, and bad for sex lives.

Placing another vote for the Breeze litter system. It uses highly absorbent pellets instead of gritty, tracking-prone litter, and you put a pee pad type thing (similar to a maxi pad) at the bottom of the box so that the pee filters down to the pad, which you change once a week. Change the pad once a week, change the pellets once a month. I don't know any other system that works this well--the whole aspect of having the pee filter down to a separate area vs. the poop staying on top and getting the smell absorbed so quickly, that's a novel concept.

I can't tell you how well it absorbs the smell (I don't even know when he goes now, and sometimes I'll forget to change his litter for a couple of days because I don't smell it, which is my own problem, bu whatever). HIGHLY recommend the Breeze system.

Wow, first off, chill out with the name calling. That type of comment just reflects more on the commenter than the target. In any case, no, a house doesn't need to fit into any category. Think I said that already in my original comment. But in my humble opinion (emphasis on the humble), there should still be an eye to making distinct components work together, i.e., the Gestault factor of the whole being the sum of the parts. Not everyone needs to *love* every house tour on AT, and when someone voices a critical opinion, I would hope that it is taken in stride rather than attacked obnoxiously behind the anonymity of cyberspace.
