Sours beers are certainly an acquired taste but once you get your head wrapped around them they're a real treat. Rodenbach is a great started sour. Beer Review: Rodenbach Flemish Sour AleBeer Sessions |

Kangaroo and Barramundi! And Moreton Bay Bugs (a local type of slipper lobster). Soooo delicious! Also, local fruits, so fresh and so ripe, we woke up every morning while we were in Port Douglas and picked mangoes from the tree outside our room... best breakfast ever. Thanks for this post! My hubby has been trying to persuade me that we should attempt our own homemade kombucha for a while now but it has really seemed too daunting to me. Your post makes the whole process look much more do-able than I had anticipated. I think maybe we'll have to give this a go now. My First Experience Making Kombucha |

Lots of exciting things going on at Lost Abbey currently, the bar area is still expanding and the whole operation is growing. They do have some issues with beers going flat after bottling but for the most part their beer line-up is one of the best in San Diego. They're definitely worth a visit. My parents have a built in Nespresso machine at home, but since I moved out (currently living on a different continent) I REALLY miss the Nespresso machine. Sadly there's no way I can afford my own yet. K-Cups and Coffee Pod Systems: Love Them or No, Thanks? |

Not rude in the slightest. All the bbqs/parties we have/our friends have, we always do BYOwhatever. We're not all made of money and when groups consist of people with different allergies/dietry needs and likes/dislikes it's difficult to please everyone. BYO is a great way to bring variety to a gathering because people will almost always bring extra to share. Is It Rude to Ask Guests to Bring Their Own Meat to a BBQ? Good Questions |

This is one of my hubby and my very favourite beers. The anniversary editions XX and XXI are the same beer aged in whisky barrels, now THOSE are epic beers. In the UK we generally have three types of dates on foods. First is the "sell by" date, which is for shops to use. The other two are for the consumer and are either "use by" or "best before"... "Use by" dates are generally for things like milk and meat, things that will go "bad" after a certain amount of time. "Best before" dates are used on things like dried or tinned goods or spices, etc. Those dates just give you a general idea of when the food quality will start to deteriorate. Lost Abbey all the way! Isabelle Proximus is my favourite followed by the extraordinarily rare Yellow Bus. Their Red Poppy and Cuvee de Tomme are also amazing. Last sour beer I had was Lost Abbey's Veritas '07 which was just beautiful. Sour beers are awesome. Beer Spotting: Sour Beer |
