Definitely natural. I highly recommend Rubio Monocoat!! This product is wonderful. It is all natural, no off gassing and applies easily with only needing one coat! It's beautiful and non-toxic. I used it on our butcher block countertops and three years later they look gorgeous and there's no stains...it repels water. You can't go wrong with this stuff.

Your vintage armoire is beautiful! I love that you have been very frugal in your purchases and by doing so have created a space that reflects your personality. Looks like a cozy place to call home...well done!

This is my dream home!! So cozy yet feels plenty spacious. Everything has its place and as a fellow OCD neurotic, this greatly appeals to me. :) The outdoor space is beautiful as well and overall it seems this would be a low maintenance home which is a bonus as one can enjoy what is truly important in life. This is my favorite House Tour ever!! Great job, guys! You have a lovely home!

I love what you have done to this small space! It's absolutely lovely! I like how you have decided to focus on what's important in life by living small. I moved from Rochester a few years ago and we are looking to move back but I am trying to convince my fiancé that we should purchase something small this time. My new motto is "Live small to live large". I like how you have done that. Great home!!

Funny thing, I was just searching for this particular style of chair online and came across this that I think might answer your question.

Thanks for the info and link to the product you have found to work so well. I just ordered the fragrance free deodorant. I wouldn't mind trying something lightly scented such as lemon. Is there one you have tried that isn't too strong that you like? Thanks again...I'm excited to try out my new toxic free deodorant! It's the small things in life....

Some of my all time favorite are The Break Up, Somethings Gotta Give, It's Complicated and The Holiday. I would do anything to own a cozy English cottage such as Kate Winslet's in The Holiday! I often times put the movie in just so I can fantasize about myself living in that cozy and inviting home! Serenity now!

In this instance, where the two rooms open up to one another and therefore need to feel more cohesive, I would definitely keep the rods and window treatments the same in both spaces. This will give a much better flow for both of the rooms, make the space seem larger and more cohesive. Right now it's just not flowing nicely. The actual curtains wouldn't need to be exactly the same fabric but should be the same design (if you use grommets in the living room then grommets should also be used in the dining room) but at the very least the fabric on both DR and LR curtains should coordinate. You could change things up in a separate room with a door such as a bedroom but when you have two spaces that open up to each other through an arched doorway it is most pleasing to the eye to keep those two spaces cohesive.

I actually have one sitting on my basement currently. I would say either School House Electric, an architectural salvage store, eBay or a thrift store. Just be sure that if you don't have the globe with you when searching that you know the fitter size (this is the measurement of the opening of the glass globe). Good luck!

I have had this issue in the past as well. All I have to say is Succulents!! Succulents, people! You cannot kill a succulent, it is virtually impossible.

I grew up in a very tiny community in Southern Minnesota. I ventured out after High School and loved living in a bigger city. By circumstance, I ended up back in the small town I grew up in where I currently reside. The town has more cattle than humans, only a Dairy Queen and a small pizza joint to eat at, small minded citizens and a night life that consists of drinking all night at the local bar while gossiping about anyone who is not currently sitting next to you. So, needless to say, my social life is in the dumps! There is a grocery store but it only has the basic necessities and if you want service you have to ring a cow bell. I am in hell here!! Hell I tell you!! I want out badly! I'd love to jump ship but my fiance has dug his heels in and wants to remain living here (where he's lived his entire 38 years). It is time for a change. So I either have to figure out how to embrace small town living or convince my fiance that it's time to pack it up and head for the city! I vote for the latter!

I have done this in one of my bedroom's in the past. For those of you asking about the functionality of the curtains, I used swing arm rods so I could just open the curtains up like a door but they still looked like a regular curtain on a regular rod when closed. This way I could really get in the closet with out the bulky curtains in my way at all. Swing arm curtain rods come in various sizes and finishes. Here's a link to some from Overstock.

I found very similar coffee tables at Home Decorators as well as Ballard Designs BUT they are not square. They're rectangular. Don't know if that would be an option as I see you want square but it might be a good backup plan. They look just like the photo above but different in shape. Good luck!

Lefse is a must have here in Minnesota, especially around the Christmas/winter season. I grew up serving a lutefisk dinner at our local Lutheran church and although I don't like lutefisk, the smell always brings back wonderful memories. My family started making lefse a couple of years ago. It's quite a lot of work but so worth it. We plan on taking classes this fall or winter at an adorable shop called Lefse Time which is just across the MN border in Fountain City, WI. They also sell all the accoutrements needed for making lefse. http://www.lefsetime.com/

I just adore this post and adore this home. It always disheartens me to see older homes that once had so much character only to have been renovated with big open rooms and all the charm and personality and lovely bones of the home stripped. I love seeing a home like this that has been maintained so well and all of it's original charm and character has been preserved. I love this!!!!!

I have found that baking soda, vinegar and micro-fiber clothes are all one needs. I've found the Norwex brand of micro-fiber to be worth the extra money as they withstand the test of time and nothing, absolutely nothing, can clean a window like their window cloth. Those micro-fiber cloths have been a dream for me!!
