Agreed! Shade structures, trees, umbrellas, something, or we'd all be frying like bacon out there... :) Love the idea though. Nicole, please tell me about your colorful tin can for art storage! I got the same one more than 10 years ago in Germany and seeing that in your apartment stopped me dead in my tracks! WHOA! NICOLE, I was stopped in my tracks when I saw your colorful tin can where you store your art supplies. I HAVE THE SAME ONE and got it in Germany more than 10 years ago. where did you get yours? I have a door dillemma: We ordered these hot doorhandles from the UK, only to find out the diameter of handles there is smaller than here. Our door's hole is too big. We either need a new door, or some way to attache the handle to the large hole. Does anyone have recommendations for a trusty handyman, or locksmith that would be able to address this issue? thanks!!!! One great trick I learned from a friend is to take a picture of that old t-shirt, crazy mug, or whatever the item is you can't let go. Keep the picture for memory's sake and get rid of the item! How about painting the inside of the nook a charcoal grey (artists grey from Ralph Lauren is hot!), or chocolate brown. A really dark color would be a nice dramatic backdrop for either one big frame, or a group. I see you have recessed lights above, and that will highlight that setting even better! I look at the lovely green Algae wall sculpture by Bouroullec (gotta love the moma store!) against a white wall and a lovely white floor lamp. Being in NYC, I don't mind loud noise until 11, 11:30 pm on weeknights. Weekend should be fair game, unless it's a truly insane loud party. You'd not believe the amount of blasting car stereos we get past our window day and night! How do those drivers still have any hearing left??? I recall having the cops called on us in the east village once while we were watching a comedy at 10pm on a Friday night.
