I want to be your friend :) As a fellow Wisconsinite i appreciate this so much!! I love how lived in everything is...down to the pictures taped around the upper bunk bed. I just bought my first house and I'm pretty sure this will be a constant source of inspiration. Shelley & Reed's Creative Cottage House Tour |

I feel so old-fashioned now!! Am I the only one who still has a predominantly child-focused tree? It's covered with ornaments they have received, and made (my favorites) through the years...with a few of that I made when I was little thrown on for good measure. I would love to be able to have a color scheme...but at the same time I don't know what I would do without my kid-friendly tree :) Tree-Trimming Secrets Martha Stewart |

I agree with reclamationdesign. The fact that the instructions begin with First gather your materials says, to me at least, that this is more of a little project than a time saving practice :) I'm not discounting it, to each his own, I'm just saying that it almost feels like double work. Sure, you can hang them in 10 seconds AFTER you have straightened up your hangers and placed 10 shirts, in a decidedly awkward formation, on your arm. Just grab hangers, put them on the shirts, and you're done :) Best of How To Month: Tackle a Project Step by Step Hot Posts from February 2010 |

I actually think this is a wonderful idea, but I agree with burnttoast that this is something that could be done on a cold Saturday afternoon, when you have the ACTUAL presents. It just seems like extra work to wrap boxes and then gently unwrap them only to have to to it again...Or you coud just unroll some butcher paper on the floor and have them color on that, and roll it back up when done...that way you don't have to worry that the pieces you pre-cut won't fit on any presents you buy, and it can be used like actual wrapping paper :)

I love everything about this room, down to the challenge of one child not waking the other :) I love all of the Goodwill finds and hand-me-downs. I have 2 boys in one room and I find myself with all the same obstacles. Oh, and my absolute favorite part are the names, considering I myself have a Domenic and and Enzo :) Yay! I have always, and WILL always despise emptying the dishwasher. I can't even really explain where this hatred came from, but I have been known to take a plate out, just the one I need of course, use it, put it BACK in the dishwasher and run it all over again...just hearing the noise of the dishwasher is lovely to me, becuase I know that as long as it's running, I'm not expected to empty it... The year I was born my mom started buying ornaments the reflected something I loved that year. She always bought 2 similar ornaments, and when we would decorate the tree we would pick a pair and we would each hang one. The reason she bought 2 was so that when I moved out I could take one from each set and have my own little collection of ornaments for my own tree. I still love opening the familiar ornaments from my childhood, and I have continued the tradition with my 2 boys as well. Starting An Ornament Collection | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles |
