I don't really get this either. You buy a bunch of frames, put them together in a design you want and then have to look for art in the specific size of the frames you bought. To me, this is really limiting. I think if i did this I'd end up with a bunch of useless frames because with my luck I'd fall in love with art in all the wrong sizes. I'd much rather collect art that I love and then figure out the design.

I used to be an upholsterer and we would bring old foam cushions back to life by using a steamer. It's amazing to see the old flat cushions spring up just by hitting it with steam. This will definitely help!

I have a dark brown couch as well and dark gray walls so I brightened up the space with a turquoise coffee table. The pop of color looks amazing next to the brown!!

Yes to this!! I'm in agreement with the others about loving the tv placement. It's amazing how much of a difference was made by simply putting the console flat against the vs. kiddie-cornering it. The only thing that bugs me is having the coffee table so far from the sofa. You'd have to get up every time you put your drink down!!

As someone who used to do upholstery as a living, I have to applaud your upholstery skills!! You did a great job on this. But,...and I'm all for painting wood, just... not this piece. Personally, I would have treasured this as a true heirloom and left the wood as it was- with all of the signs of it's rich history intact. Wood never goes "out of style", it will still look great and go with everything in 100 years. But I doubt the blue will stand the test of time. In 5 or 10 years it probably won't be as cute. I would have just changed the fabric, it still would have made a huge difference.

Love the bookcase! Is that a separate piece in the corner that you turned on an angle or is it built for corners? I've never seen a bookcase that wraps around like that.

Amazing!! You've done a wonderful job of making the house your own. And I LOVE the Whitney Lejeune painting!! After I saw yours I went to her website and now I'm a huge fan. What dimensions is the one you have? I'm on a mission to own one and the size of yours looks great!

PETITOISEAU- I used to live in Williamsburg Brooklyn which is like the hipster capitol of the U.S. so let me assure you that the hipster stereotype of "arrogant" and "judgmental" is pretty spot on.

ChrisGal- lighten up, if this works for them then great! Everyone is different, has different needs ect. How are you so sure this will be the demise of ANYTHING? Do you really have to be reminded that not everyone shares your point of view? To say it should "never be done" is ridiculous and also pointless.
