We have had a round table from West Elm for the past four years and have been very disappointed with it. It shows even the smallest marks. A 10-month old with a fork could destroy it. We are also considering danish modern wood (teak) and maybe just planning to treat ourselves to a refinishing of it after the kids are 10 or so. That is completely awesome - I love her design. Mine is not quite so lovely, but it's also extremely personalized. I photoshopped my husband's picture until it looked like a cartoon and pasted it along with other images on top of a board book we have. We're getting ready to paint nearly every room in our house, including two for kids - a boy who's 3 and a girl who's 8 months. I would love to see people comment with specific names of the paints they've used (along with the pictures.) Apartment Therapy ohdeedoh | Open Thread 51 |

We have found ourselves with loads of toys in a corner of the living room and a corner of the dining room. I don't think this can be avoided for the next three or four years, so I want to find a solution. What kind of shelves or storage should be added to these corners to contain the toys? I don't want kid-looking toyboxes or boxes made of bendy materials that will look messy in a living room? Apartment Therapy - Open Thread 28 |
