I will try that. I only have trouble with certain blogs though. I am not a tech type person, more a creative. Thanks for addressing my question!

Before & After: A Pink to Poodle Chair Makeover

I love this makeover...much like others here.
I have a totally unrelated comment. I love this blog as well. However, I wish bloggers would not use the shadow lines on the sides of the pages. It makes the page move oh so slowly. I don't even read blogs that use them cause I can't stand it, even if they have great content. At least I can still get the best projects on AT.
If any bloggers should read this, also please stop using the word "goodness" over and over again. It was only cute for awhile.
I know it is free for me, but as we have seen it is benficial to both reader and blogger (ads and such). Thus, I felt like throwing that out there.
Still a great project and hope she reads this and removes those lines so I can read her blog...please!!!

I remember that tree so well...just the faux Bonsai alone was $700. Sort of like when Martha dressed up a cheap roller blind with $800 wallpaper. Crazy Martha, but how I would love to live in her world.
If you look closely at the tree (and you probably have countless times) you see it is color-blocked. Once again, Martha is out of touch with the average budget, but way ahead of a trend.
I think this could easily be applied to a regular old tree for regular old folks. In fact, I think it would be stunning. Might go get some birds tonight.

The mirror in the 3rd picture you can pick up on Ebay for less than $10. It is a cheap 80's production. I know this because I picked one from an auction. I thought I did so well, only to find out it worthless and plentiful.

Art Nouveau Style (When You Can't Afford the Real Thing)

SchoolieJoolie...woke up a bit on the snarky side today? My daughter has a West Elm daybed and it is a nightmare. It also requires special bedding, a standard size twin does not go down both short sides. I am sure your bed is a few inches from the wall, daybeds are pushed right up against the wall or bed frame.
Also, my 10 year old daughter has most of her stuff stored downstairs in our home. Older children usually have less bulky things. She crafts and has everything on some shelves.
I agree the Novogratz seem off at times, but I think that is because they try to push things a bit. Sure we have seen hanging beds before, but these are very well executed. I like how the room is not relying on a specific palette.
As for the Lettered Cottage room, there is nothing pushing the envelope. No original ideas (beadboard ceilings, barn doors, and daybeds with drawers under the bed). I really like them, but lets face it, they have the same elements in every design. It is Country Cottage, little room to do anything new. Probably perfect for someone like yourself.

I like this version way better than the Lettered Cottage..and I adore them for the record. Anyone who has a child with a daybed knows they are a nightmare to keep made. Also, I think full size beds are great for kids...good for sleepovers and such. In addition, kids don't need a lot of space in their rooms, as they don't spend as much time in them thanks to the addition of Family Rooms.

I like these...I really do. However, I wouldn't describe any of them as "dynamic".

I love how unrefined it is, yet it is still so elegant. I wish I had this sort of knack. Well done!

I would like to set the record straight here...the 2-tone Rast Hack was thought up by a guy named Eric. It was featured on Design Sponge a full 2 months before anyone else featured it on their blog.
Why do I care you may ask? I hate when people take credit for something they did not come up with...don't we all.
Hence I don't read a certain popular blog (*cough*cough*) cause they have been taking credit it for a couple of years. Even going so far as to have the stolen idea named after them, and getting indignant if they don't get the credit. Shame on them.

I love YHL and read them every day. How many other design blogs have such a regonizable acronym? They are funny, nice, and seem very much in love.
That being said, I think they are trying to go a new direction and it is not working. Their first home worked so well because it was a formula many readers could follow (EVERYTHING neutral with a few colorful pillows), it was very effective.
This house they are trying some new things, but their plans seemed clouded by nagging leanings towards their true aesthetic. The only room that works is the one they really went for, the guest room.
I hate this project, the color they painted their beams, the new rug, and the oh so skimpy window panels (they are half the width of a normal panel on huge sliders).
I am so sorry YHL, but I hope you take this in the spirit it is delivered. Go back to what you do better than anyone. Your are DIY gods...as for decorating-go back to the formula.

I know what her MIL is thinking...she is wondering why her offspring and his betrothed are ruining completely good kitchen cabinets, only to replace them with low-grade stock cabinets. Especially since the said cabinets are in the Shaker style so many others are pining for, and she is only going to install the lesser cabinets in the same layout. She also thinking about how they are vintage and probably made of solid wood. Then she is remembering back to some really cool design blogs she saw, full of endless ideas to renew old kitchens with a $25 can of paint. Finally she is wondering what landfill this sensless waste will fill, so she can retrieve them when they run out of funds for her MIL suite.
