Tomato paste is the best! I freeze whatever I don't use in an ice cube tray, then transfer to a tupperware. Since I'm almost always putting it in soup or sauce, I can just toss the cubes right in.
It really freaks out my partner when he's reaching for ice, though.

Ditto on the vegetable peeler comment. I think I got a blister making mashed potatoes at my in-laws last year. The hilarious thing was that they eventually got a new peeler and got us one because they were so amazed with it. It's still terrible!

I have the Scotts one. It's fine as long as we don't let the weeds/grass get too tall.
I actually was just trying to research a "people powered" alternative to a rototiller. Any suggestion for that?

Aw, I kind of like them! Seems like some kind of succulent or air plant would work better, though, at least in my dry climate.

Hmm. A big area of my front walk is spalling, and I've thought of doing something different with it. But what would look good with a '50s brick ranch, and would be shovel-able?

I've had to do the gross sniff test, too, but apparently you can also just use a black light, a la those tv news exposes.

I've never used the newer products, but I love the original scrub. It's one of the few reasons I still go to Whole Paycheck.

I vote for growing your own! It's so quick and easy, and you can just use any old container on your windowsill.

This is so funny. I just keep onion and avocado halves face down on a little plate or a plastic lid.
