I find it odd that the prize for this contest is an adjustable queen bed base and matching headboard. You would think that if you just won a contest featuring your bedroom and presumably your bed that replacing your bed/headboard would be the last thing you would need to do. This post just cracked me up because I'm a relatively new dog owner and have been pondering the same question. My dog adoption took place at the same time I started a yoga class. Having never tried yoga before I needed the proper attire and have since found it is a perfect ensemble for either my early morning walks or evening walks. For me, it is at least more put together than wearing a coat over my pajamas and equally comfortable for evening just spent lounging around the house too. The fact that my dog usually only barks at strangers when it is dark out is another reason I don't care to wear my pajamas out. She draws as much attention as possible to both of us! Anything Goes? There are ipad apps too that have mice, bugs etc. that run around the screen. It is fun to watch my cat try and figure out where the bugs go when they go off the screen. Do DVDs for Cats Really Work? |

mdorthy - I read you can judge the intelligence of a cat by how they react in front of a mirror. Some cats don't get that what they are seeing is behind them while others do. Do DVDs for Cats Really Work? |

I bought 2 of these DVDs for my cat for Christmas because I recently adopted a dog and wanted to give him something to do since the dog needs constant oversight and my cat was accustomed to being my sole focus. My cat was entranced watching them, but I noticed he got really agitated since the birds and other animals were out of reach "inside" the TV. He eventually got so agitated I had to stop showing him the videos. Do DVDs for Cats Really Work? |

I have a set of their ear buds. They are the best I've ever had and so comfortable it is easy to forget you are wearing them. Most ear buds I can only stand for a very short duration. Earth Friendly Audio Accessories From House Of Marley Tech Test Lab Review |

I have used catalogchoice.com and it worked to get rid of all of my catalogs. Unfortunately I think they just wait a year or two and start sending them again. That is what happened to me. Pottery Barn is the worst. I don't like the direction the company has gone anyway so it usually goes directly into the recycle bin, both copies since somehow I now receive 2. How very cool to have this info. I have been searching archives for photos of my home after it was built. I have found plenty of historic photos of surrounding houses and buildings, but so far none of our building. I plan to have a few old B&W photos of neighboring buildings framed to display in our common areas. 1939 to 2012: A Home Loved Through the Decades |

I live in a building built in 1927 and last fall a vandal put a rock through the transom window above our front door which had a beautiful painted address sign with the building name. It took a lot of searching, but I finally found a local sign painter who can duplicate the original for us. This post is so timely as I just finished reviewing the mock-up they provided and selected the final colors. Unfortunately we aren't able to afford gold leaf the same as the original. This is fast becoming a lost art. I cringed when other neighbors suggested we go with adhesive lettering! Thankfully I was able to make my case to repaint the original sign. Of course that meant I was tasked with finding someone to paint the sign. The Lost Art Of Hand-Painted Signs: New Bohemia Signs |

If you are painting a pattern or stripes using painters tape, paint over the tape using the background wall color before painting the accent color. This seals any gaps in the edges of the tape eliminating bleeding underneath so you end up with crisper lines when you remove the tape. Real Life Lessons from a First-Time Painter |

If you are going to need more than 1 gallon but less than 5 gallons here is a good trick. Open 2 gallons of paint at the same time and mix half of one with half of the other. I once painted a room using two gallons of paint, but used one can first and finished with the second. The result was terrible. You could tell where I changed to the second can of paint because the shades were just slightly off. By mixing you can reduce any subtle differences in shade. Of course if you need up to 5 gallons then buy a 5 gallon bucket of paint instead of 5-1 gallon cans. Real Life Lessons from a First-Time Painter |

Friends and family refer to my house as a museum, but it's just REALLY eclectic. The notable unusual things to me are the 8' foot carved naga from a Thai Buddhist temple, a carved alter inlaid with mother of pearl also from Thailand. I also display a collection of Japanese pachinko machines in various places throughout my home. Displaying Unusual Objects in Your Home |

There is an artist in Portland OR I believe that paints over old landscape paintings, but he doesn't obscure the landscape. Instead he paints monsters into the existing landscape.
