@Talby, I purchased the chairs at Target several years ago. I have to re-polyurethane then every few years.

After photos are those that only a stylist would love. I don't get the disconnect between the before whole room shots and the after vignettes.

As usual, this outdoor contest completely ignores those of us that have to adhere to a Mountain planting schedule which means we typically can't begin planting until after the first week of May and even then it is take your chances as we still get the occasional freeze. Oh well.

I would add that the number of advertisements also make me think of the future, think "Blade Runner". These days you don't only get commercials sandwiched between segments of TV shows, but you get them during your show across the screen. They seem to get bigger and bigger, and now they aren't only static but animated. They are on my phone and pretty much everywhere I look. We're reaching the point where I think we will soon be buying products that actually advertise other products on them!

Just yesterday I was having dinner in a restaurant and remembered there was a program I wanted to watch that was just about to start. I pulled out my iphone and set xfinity to record it. To be honest at my age there are so many things that seem like I am in the future especially when I think back to being a kid when the first handheld calculators came out! How far we've come.

@janel, don't forget that a lot of readers are still a long way from planting or getting outdoors ready for warm weather. Although we've had a mild winter in Colorado, snow is still a possibility until May here. In fact our heaviest snow is usually in March and April. I'm looking forward to the outdoor channel.

@holler, that blanket is great. Keep it, or give it to me or I'll buy it for 6 bucks.

I think the shades would actually work better in a gay men's bedroom, sort of like his and his embroidered towels in the bathroom. I like to find humor in decor anyway. It sure beats so many rooms that are void of the owner's personality. I doubt it was the intent of the owner, but in this very charged political climate the do send the message "this bedroom is defined for one man and one woman." Likely if you know the owner well enough to be in the bedroom then you would know if there was any political intent. Kudos to the owner for not being afraid to take a chance and have some fun.

@scotttrudeau, thanks for stating the obvious. The site is obviously set up for specific browsers, if there had been a vote button visible (on safari) there wouldn't have been a question. In the end I decided I really didn't care enough to download another browser to vote. This contest, as with most of AT's contests seems poorly managed.

My bedroom is so dark at night I ended up adding a red light under my bed on a timer that comes on during the night. If nature calls I can find my way out without killing myself on any furniture and the best part is when I am lying in bed and the red light is on below the bed I can't even tell as it only illuminates the floor and everything else is still dark.

Keep the craftsman house tours coming! There have been several over the last few weeks and it is my favorite style of architecture.

I wish I could get a straight answer on Bona vs. Murphy's Oil Soap. I repeatedly hear one is better than the other but of course it depends on the source. Of course Bona will tell you Murphy's is bad and vice versa. Because of my inability to get a straight answer from anyone that doesn't rep. one product or another I started to use plain vinegar and water but it leave my floors looking dull. My home still has the original quarter sawn oak floors that are now 85 years old. They were refinished 12 years ago with a urethane finish.

I find the use of color and texture throughout this home very appealing. The light is lovely too. Nice job Lindsey.

More than 200 comments so I doubt AT will see this, but with all the site updates there is one thing that was over looked. In my opinion it is what has needed updating the most. the navigation through the house tours really sucks. On a laptop you constantly have to scroll to see the whole picture. Navigating from picture to picture is tedious too. The last color contest had a different layout where arrows would appear over the photo when you moused over them to navigate to the next. It also gave you an icon to enlarge the photos as an option.
