I'm from Southern California. What are these "seasons" you speak of? Come fall/winter I keep a pot of water on my stove with cinnamon sticks, cloves, and slices of oranges and in the evening I simmer it low to make my house smell autumnal. I have to agree with The Baroness and Parnassus...the bay windows are so beautiful, I would make them a focal point of your room and not worry about fussing them up with window treatments. I never thought about the food opportunities, but now I love the excuse to ask for a lovely pocket knife for Christmas! Good grief. I think the bigger house-cleaning issue is our obsession with anti-bacterial this and that. Yes, you should absolutely keep a clean house, and yes, food-borne illness blah blah blah is important. But our society's made up fear and obsession with eradicating bacteria (which you've all lived with for years, and which has made you healthier for it) I think comes out of these weird "wear black to clean your mirrors" kind of tips. Maybe I'm overthinking it, but I recently saw the 'touchless' soap dispenser commercial for your house? Holy Monkeys, YOU CAN TOUCH THE SOAP DISPENSER WHEN YOU'RE ABOUT TO SCRUB YOUR HANDS WITH SAID SOAP! Perhaps I need to sit down. (Carry on, I'll be ok.) The hands-down best way to eat strawberries (and believe me, I love chocolate), is to first dip them in sour cream, then into brown sugar. Trust me on this. I know you couldn't gift them pre-dipped, but perhaps you could put the sour cream and brown sugar in cute containers, along with "instructions" on a new way of eating them?
