In a similar vein, I started a project called Curated Table to bring smart, engaging, open-minded people together for dinner at local restaurants. I curate tables by reaching out to cool people across different social networks, so in essence, I make networks social.

I tried GrubWithUs and had a generally positive experience.

I also tried Zokos, a friend-funding platform for dinner parties, and loved it. Definitely something Kitchn/Apartment Therapy readers would get a lot out of it, extraordinary hosts that we are.

I love Laptop Lunches' bento boxes: Laptop Lunches. They're cute, but sometimes juices escape from the box. Far more leak-proof is the BUILT lunchbag: BUILT. The latter is probably better suited to your situation.
