You could just put a rail along the side to keep you son from falling off. But I also really like the idea of using the loft for storage...you should post some pictures if you decide to go that route. I'm curious about it now... Using a Loft for Storage Instead of Sleep? Good Questions |

I mostly agree about not telling people about collections, except one of the things that I collect are antique skeleton keys. That is the only collection that I let people "help" me with, but that is because they are a little different than ordinary collections. They are small, easy to contain, and I have never seen one that I don't like. A good friend of mine gave me a lovely bronze one for part of my Christmas present one year. I find news like this so unsettling...sometimes it seems like nothing we expose our children to is ever really safe. I would like to raise my daughter in a relatively safe environment without feeling neurotic...and by safe I mean with minimum exposure to toxic chemicals. That doesn't seem like much to ask for. AT has some pretty harsh critics. I think you made some big improvements with very little money and resources. It's not my style, and I wouldn't do my own bathroom this way, but I have no doubt in my mind that your parents were amazed. Judging from the before picture, your parents aren't super modern hipsters who love sterile spaces...yes it has lots of accessories, but I don't see what's so wrong with that. It seems like your mom and dad like having lots of accessories, and that's who this space is about after all. I think you did a really good job.
