It has a look similar to the Atlantico line at De La Espada.

And Furniture Joynt, though good is very expensive.

Try other options first--go to Mood Fabrics, talk to the floor people, they'll know someone (Michael but he's out in Bklyn so..). Try the dry cleaner, local tailor for a zipper!!!!

Pardon the ignorance but "slide hooks" ? What are they and any place to look for a photo of them?

Clap is right and once I read how you did it, I looked at your floor plan. As one who loves her sliding doors, I appreciate your bamboo ones, nice execution, but I didn't realize what it was from the photos. Next time shoot with a wide angle lens. The photos are lovely, beautiful composition but they don't show off your place to its best advantages. All that fine work deserves some equally strong architectural photography.

Your place and Jay's Tumbleweed are two of the best in the contest. With him out, I clicked extra hard for you!! Your place has a wonderfully personal charm. And who doesn't want to snatch up your pup!! Very sweet.
But yes, why the firewood under the bed? Is it a faux wall??

There is obviously something extremely flawed with this contest that didn't send you to the winners circle. I protest such flawed results. Your work is extraordinary. Then again, I suppose the LAST thing you need is prize of furniture from R&B. But it must be said, as the small brains of Wayne's world proclaimed "We are not worthy!" Not here anyway!!

Damn validation is seriously addictive! Thanks for such warm comments. At this point, I'm just so delighted at the responses and happy I finally took photos.
So some answers- the lamps I ebay'ed, one at a time so it took a while to find the match, they're actually a little bit different from each other.
The screens are from Tucker Robbins, as is the headboard (a charpoy which I cut the legs off of) and are indeed capiz and mahogany from the Phillippines.
The textiles are my designs, a line of home furnishings I produced under the label of FIG or antiques from India.
Ah and the orange triangle book shelf is from CB2 and the gold metallic pouf is from Sheherazade (downtown on Orchard St.) AND he's having a sale right now!!
Thanks again for all the great commentary, it's a pleasure to have others interested in one's obsession!

An Italian friend taught me this in college and it became our go-to dish when broke, which for college students seemed to be all the time, so I know this recipe well. It's that smell that gets you, the slightly burnt butter and then the sage simmering in it, releasing its fragrance. Think I'll have it for breakfast!

I got a fantastic pouf for about $175, same or even better quality than what Derian is selling and stuffed!!!
Sheherazade on Orchard St. They bring them in directly from Morocco. Rachid, the owner, actually went way out of his way to fulfill my insatiable desire for a muted gold one. He is doing some other wonderful pieces as well--furniture upholstered with beautiful ikats, pillows, etc. plus rugs and other wonderful finds.
Their site is really only for reference, but here it is... http://www.bloomwire.com/sheherazade/contact_us.html

First I'd welcome it with "Hello Spaceboy" then " Is there Life on Mars", for the aliens who I just have to assume all look like David Bowie. But is that sexist?

Take a look at Mary Beth Thielhelm who has a show up at Sears Peyton. She paints the ocean, a seemingly simply idea, but when you see her work, the range will astound you, I think.
She's the only painter I have plunked down cash money for so my bias is stated.
Here's a link to the current show-

OK, first I must admit I've spent time in this home. It is spectacular, seemingly surfing on the edge of the world. And knowing Alejandra is back in Bali right now, I'll respond for her about the upstairs.
Upstairs is the complete opposite of downstairs-- a huge bed, everything completely white, mirrors, windows, so it feel like you're floating in the ocean.
One part you're not seeing is the lush landscaping, both up the hillside and down to the sea. That lushness, the colors, the textures and the sound of the sea combine to make this home the most peaceful sanctuary I know. Oh and it's known as the Pink House, since the outside is indeed Pink (with a fantastic cerulean blue trim).

Hey isn't that radiator from a house tour a while back?

Oh, I see it is indeed from Olga's house tour. I remember that one, amazing Venetian plaster she did herself!! Give the woman the credit due!! Fix the post!!

Many more of these should be given away obviously. They fill a big need in the world, part of the iron free movement. A letting go of the past, moving beyond adherence to "permanent press lines" to a freely ordered universe of wrinkle-less goods without the confining look of straight lines. Next we need freeform, wavy pressed lines!!! Steam the world!!!

Have been using my very design PC K. Rashid Cone Dustbuster, but it just doesn't get under the couch. The power to vacumn surfaces with more than a bunnies breath would be welcome, to pull off the dusty veneer, long accustomed to its home would be a delight and thus to shed light on a new, brighter age.
Worth a try. thanks

Via a friend of a friend in China, I've heard that across the country they've been diverting power to Beijing. Major cities are having power-downs--unable to use any internet, A/C,etc. during the day as power is diverted. The infrastructure can barely handle the overload without all the athletes & audience there now. Wonder how it will be once they've all arrived.
