One of my favorite house tours ever, easily. Totally in love.

omelets with ham, mushrooms, onion and cheddar are always big hit here.

Also, just heating some ham cut up with onions, salt, garlic salt and pepper, then boiling egg noodles and throwing them into the pan with the ham for a minute makes a great, easy, cheap "farm meal" that my parents used to feed me as a kid. Probably with leftover holiday ham.

Oh my god, I am in LOVE with the olive green curtains in the kitchen. I know, they are so simple, but I normally hate any kind of window treatment and these have me smitten. PLEASE someone tell me where they were purchased/where I can get curtains just like them/what material they are made out of. PLEASE!

When I was a kid my great-grandma had grapes like these hanging near her stone fireplace. They had a light inside, and functioned as the coolest lamp my younger self had ever seen. When I asked about them, my dad told me my great-aunt made them when she was younger. I think that aunt eventually reclaimed them when my gram passed away, but I desperately wish I had that grape lamp for myself.

@msmezzo Borax CAN be used to kill bedbugs. Check out the link for the original 25 things list.

I'm a shoes-off-inside person for both my own comfort (I really hate shoes. I hate socks even more) and to be polite at others homes. Occasionally I feel more awkward without shoes (especially when barefoot) then I did if I would have just left them on. At our house, it's all personal preference. I do notice that quite a few of their friends take off their shoes, presumably since they see us without shoes, or share my disdain for wearing them.
I'm also FAR, far from a germaphobe; those germaphobes that do enter my house will probably want to keep their shoes ON (ok, its not that bad, but its not that good, either.)

Also, my German grandmother absolutely flips out when anyone that enters her house is walking around barefoot, or often times even with socks on. She insists on everyone wearing slippers. She has TONS of hand-knitted slippers and she gives them away like candy. This remains true when it is 90 degrees outside. Further, she calls slippers "house shoes," and I don't know if that's got something to do with some funky english-german translation, or what exactly is the reasoning there.

I've lived on several different streets. Some names I've liked, some I haven't.

Growing up on Grant Road, I always thought it sounded rough and ugly, but now I'm rather fond of the sound.

I also lived on a Belaire Avenue for a while (as you might imagine, all of the guys that lived in my apartment building thought it was hilarious to dub themselves "the fresh prince of Belaire... Avenue.)

Thrush Alley was by far my favorite.

McKean Road, Park Avenue and my current address on Washington Street are all names I've been pretty indifferent to. They're alright, but nothing special to smile at.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate all of the suggestions. Now I might have a more difficult time looking through all of these great ideas and picking just one than I did trying to find a recipe in the first place! Regardless, I appreciate everything. Thanks so much!
