Well who couldn't be happy with this house! Jen you did a fantastic job and offer such inspiration. Your style is what I've been trying to achieve with greens, navy and a bit of yellow and pink and Moroccan. I'm no where near there but thanks for the pep.

First I saw and loved the shoes on http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/shivas-romantic-modern-ranch-home-house-tour-166672
I thought after seeing her work that AT should do a tour of her house and here it is!! I knew I'd enjoy it before I saw it. I second @SALLY305. Immediately I thought this home is so beautiful, unique and unpretentious. The seem like really down to earth family.

This makes me miss my childhood home in the Caribbean. The wooden home painted white, plank walls, darkwood floors, bright paint on every wall, not to mention the rats lol. I don't really miss the rats but I can relate to that. We had some sewer monsters that would break in our jalousie windows if they were a tad bit open and then be gone by morning. Congrats, you have the stamp from a Caribbean/South American you've made it "to the beach with Kelly Wearstler" and beautifully so.

I love this place. I reminds me a bit of Urban Outfitters with a touch of class and modernity or rather Anthropologie not overdone. I think it reminds me a lot of me although I can't relate to some of the items like the cowboy boots but I like that it mixes the past and the present. I think it just screams "this is who we're nothing to hide and we are not shy" here which is great. Heck even the Sterilite storage is on display.

Sweet! I really like all the fabrics in your home. However if thats a bin of shoes near the dining table it seems kind of an unhealthy location. Not for the shoes but for the diners. Hoping its handbags.

Simply real and Beautiful. I love the of the traditional rugs with the modern furnishings. It seems like some modern design principle that one would be disobeying in this day and age but it edgy. Best of all is the fact that Mr. Rakatansky doesn't even have to try because he IS the real deal 52 years in the making!

Hello people she lives in a market should she bring the noise, colors, smells, funk and madness into a 125 sqft space with a dog? I imagine both she and the dog find it quite serene when the return home. I would love to love this space but I have not reached the point of wanting to get rid of that much stuff plus its not a life style that is practical for everyone.

I do note some pride or arrogance in her comments as well but as others have said she has done a lot of DIY and has reason to be proud. Additionally sometimes it takes time and life experiences to learn to be humble; things that the Peace Corp are certain to give.
