I agree that you should try to find the times that are bothering them. If it is just when they have bad dreams, nothing can be done (besides better sound proofing). And you would be driving yourself crazy all weekend trying to keep them quiet when they don't need to be.

If it is the mornings, then sneaking out in the morning for a few days would be an easy fix. If it is during the day - playing detective, building forts, finger painting, and having a "book day" are all really great ways to discourage running. Giggles will still be there in loads but I doubt that is the problem.

If you guys leave for the weekend or your kids do, make sure your neighbors are aware that they are gone and not that you can somehow magically make it sound like there are no kids there anytime you want ;).

In addition, I learned that people like to help. So when my daughter was sick we suggested meals. We just didn't have the energy to cook. So freezable meals from friends and neighbors never got/get turned down!!
