Deborah Madison has a great icebox cookie recipe that you can do as Orange Cardamom. it's in "Seasonal Fruit Desserts"

i had the same situation and my guests didn't mind bringing their own chairs. i also used a large trunk to seat two.

They do have some cool stuff but I have to say I feel like the prices are ridiculous especially because the materials used are often free, such as old pop bottles, etc.

i'm sorry but I found Pix Patisserie to be a little too dank and cluttered. I am moderately up tight and i like my eateries, especially bakeries to be clean and bright. Pix felt like walking into someone's garage or their grandmothers's living room. i left because it just felt dirty to me.

only my close friends have been to my apartment. if i have a party, i invite at least 30 people who i know but not as closely as the kind of people who bring me food when i am sick.

wait a minute, i thought these were "vanilla wafers" those long rectangular crispy cookies that come in neapolitan flavors, like this http://www.amazon.com/Murray-Cookies-Vanilla-9-Ounce-Packages/dp/B000AYDH92

as opposed to "Nilla Wafers"?
Nealey, which kind do you mean?

I made this and it was amazing! It took closer to an hour all told. I've never had traditional coq a vin, but this was so good I may have to try the long version as well. Either way, this version was still worthwhile.

Just made this and it is awesome! It's such a flavorful dish for cooking only 30 min.
Mine came out a bit soupy which surprised me but it was fine. I served it with couscous which soaked up some of the liquid.

I have had issues with the lip on mason or ball jars as well. for a little different look, I use Bonne Mamman jam jars. they are a little bigger and a little nicer. plus they are from france.
