Nothing against it, but I honestly just can't fathom what I'd use it in.

The machines that apply the labels (or the imprints on the cans) don't care if the cans are right side up or upside down. The labels will go on either way.

I don't weave the noodles when I make lasagna, but I do alternate the direction of the noodles with each layer. Makes it a little bit neater.

The little Heath bars. I can have one and not feel quite as guilty as if I'd gotten a regular sized one. :)

And anything Reese's. Somehow those never seem to make it into the candy bowl for the kids.

Oven is great for large amounts. When I'm just doing a couple slices, I have a small Foreman grill that works brilliantly.

As far as the "best choice" - it all depends on the supermarket.

Here in VA, Giant & Safeway are somewhat spotty - it really depends on the location as to how good the wine department is.

Then you've got Wegman's with it's own big honking wine shop which is far and away the best as far as supermarkets go.

I buy both at the market and one of the independent wine shops. At the market, it's usually a bottle or two of something I know, and the wine shop, it's a mixed case of standards and new wines - the owner and I play, "What do you think I'd like?" and you really can't get that at the markets.

If I have just a very few things, I'll use it.

The problem with the ones at our local market is that if you have too many items waiting to be bagged, it will stop scanning until that is done - and they never have enough people available to assist with bagging, so it ends up taking longer than a regular checkout.

I try not to let my pup clean the plates too often as I don't want him getting the idea that "plate food" is "his" food. There is no 'ick' factor involved, just trying to keep future begging to a minimum. If he does get to clean any plates, they are put right next to his regular food bowl.

Overall, if we have something that is OK for him to eat, there's a good chance he'll get a tiny bit of it in his bowl at the end of dinner.

-- Hook or hole in the handle so it can be hung from pot racks
-- Ovensafe, and stamp on the bottom to what temp it is oven safe.
-- LOVE the "universal lid" idea posted above. I swear, I have a knack for always grabbing the wrong lid.
-- Heavy, but not so much that I give myself a hernia trying to move a pan.

I had to laugh about the spaghetti tree - waaaaay back in the day, my grandmother completely fell for the news reports on the spaghetti harvest, and for years my grandfather just loved telling that story to the family.

Trying to do holiday baking with my grandmother visiting...

Oven wasn't calibrated quite right, first batch burnt on the bottom, discovered my oven mitt wasn't very good, burned myself, cookie sheet went flying and cookies all over the floor.

My grandmother's comment, "Well, you're just trying to do too much." Followed by endless questions of "What is wrong with the oven? Is it going to catch fire?"

It was not a pleasant holiday.

Won't try and use the oven without one. Mine is a Farberware (or one of those "wares") that I picked up at the market.

My oven does usually get to the settings that you program it for, but it takes longer than the indicator says - so at least this way I'm not putting stuff in the oven while it's still preheating.

Tapas! Any kind of tapas, really, but one I've had and loved was little chorizo sausages that had been grilled. YUM.

Goodness, I feel like such a breakfast slacker. I'm usually just not hungry first thing in the morning, so a nice hot cup of coffee does it for me.

But then I tend to do the "small snacks" throughout the day that keep me going, so I often end up having a late breakfast of sorts. Could be anything from cheese & crackers to half a sandwich to a bit of last night's leftovers.
