Hey! We're doing the same thing: our nursery will double as our guest room. Of course, we plan to sleep in the guest room and give our guests our room when they stay over. Nice job! Inspiring Nursery Plus Guest Room Modern-Day Family |

I just saw this yesterday and like it, too. But my husband wants a universal bag --a bag that goes with the baby, as opposed to the mom bag and a separate dad bag. I don't want a boring bag! Any suggestions? Boden Baby Changing Bag Daily Find |

The baby isn't going to remember what you get them so the gift is better suited for the parents. Financially secure or not, what parents most appreciate upon baby's arrival is a well-cooked meal and some help around the house when the baby is just born. What about getting them a delivered meal? There are numerous catering services out there or cook it yourself. In Philly, there's a service called Healthy Bites To-Go where you can set up meal delivery in advance of healthy, local, organic meals (I've never used it, but the menu looks fantastic). Pair that with the scotch for dad, a bottle and bib for baby, and something food-related for mom and you have a family meal gift. Unique Non-Baby Baby Gift Good Questions |

We rent and don't have an overhead light in the room that will be our nursery so lighting options are limited. In fact, even the number and placement of outlets is limited as are surfaces for table lamps. My plan is to hang a few paper lanterns (either star shape or basic round) and install switches on Hemma cord sets from Ikea. Mood Lighting: Don't Overlook Your Overhead Light |

I find this bedroom boring. I don't find it sexy and don't understand how that is used as a descriptor here. The whole thing is just blah. An Inspiring 64 Square Foot Bedroom Paper Flower Girl |

I would remove the backing on the upper cabinets over the sink. Then you would have cabinets that are open from both sides and it would make the opening between your kitchen and dining room feel more open and connected. As long as you keep the cabinets relatively organized (as it appears you do!), I think it would look great! Those upper cabinets really feel block-y now, even though they are painted white and an improvement over the original. Before & After: A Quick and Easy Kitchen Update |

If you intend to use the space as a guest room, you'll need the walls. I like your idea of a glass door. What if you frosted the glass? It would let light in while maintaining some privacy for an overnight guest. What To Do With Awkward Den Space? Good Question |

I currently have a desk in my entryway. Big mistake! It quickly becomes a dumping ground for mail, magazines, keys, and miscellaneous stuff. It's messy even when I take the time once a week to clear it off. We've tried using little dishes to hold things, but it's just not working well. I never end up using it as a desk. We're going to try moving it to another corner of the room and install a small shelf to act as our landing strip with a small bench beneath with storage for shoes and boots, which right now is just a mess of clutter. I think a large plant would look nice and fill in the space well. Something with some height and bulk to fill in the back corner. You can leave the area in front of the plant bare or add a few smaller items (knick knacks or framed photos), but I would limit the additional items to three. How to Use Corner Area Above Fireplace? I recently had a potential landlord suggest that he would remove carpet in his unit, if my husband and I were willing to sign a two-year lease. Is your sister willing to sign a two-year lease?
