not to diminish the amazingness of this project, but the martello tower was only built in 1808. not 100% ancient.

i agree that the "before" kitchen was bland and outdated, but the darkness of the "after" kitchen actually makes the space look smaller - claustrophobically so - and still manages to look "faux-luxury" apartment-turnover-bland.

also preferred the before. this looks tacky, esp with the generic looking iron railings.

why are people such wimps about peppers? that is what i don't understand. i don't seed ANY peppers and food is never too hot for me. might as well not add in any peppers if you're going to seed them.

right, after you eat meat, you must wait 6 hours before dairy. there are a few people who can wait a shorter amount of time, but no one can eat dairy immediately following.

i don't understand why this is such a big deal. i cook often and creatively for two, usually off recipes intended for 4 - 6. i DO live in a small city apartment and don't have TONS of room for food storage, but cooking for 4 - 6 means i can freeze half, or eat leftovers for a few days, or make another dish for 4 - 6, freeze half of that, alternate the leftovers, etc. to me, a busy, working person who often gets home at 8 or 9... that's perfectly ok. cook once, eat thrice. i would NOT be happy to put a lot of effort into a dish for 2 and get NO leftovers - unless its something that would be ruined leftover.
