Does nobody else use the stuff you spray out of a can? Pam has butter-flavored spray that I always use. Works like a charm.

I'm embarrassed at the amount of frozen banana "popsicles" I eat everyday. I even eat them for breakfast.

I got an AMAZING gift last year for Christmas: A KitchenAid Classic mixer!

This year I hope Santa will bring me some stainless steel mixing bowls or an immersion blender. I also love the cute measuring cups from Anthropologie: http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/catalog/productdetail.jsp?subCategoryId=HOME-KITCHEN-GADGETS&id=073106&catId=HOME-KITCHEN&pushId=HOME-KITCHEN&popId=HOME&sortProperties=&navCount=30&navAction=top&fromCategoryPage=true&selectedProductSize=&selectedProductSize1=&color=095&isProduct=true&isBigImage=&templateType=

Once, while on a camping trip, we decided to make french toast but we didn't have any spices with us. All we had was those packets of instant hot chocolate. We added it to the eggs and voila-- delicious chocolate french toast!

Genius.

I hate when I get to the bottom of a drink and it's all watery.

Another fun ice cube replacement is frozen fruit. When I have over-ripe fruit, I'll blend it in a food processor and stick it in an ice cube tray. There's nothing like cooling down lemonade with frozen blueberry squares or popping frozen mango in a vodka-cranberry.

I find some pretty amazing recipes on cookinglight.com. Their test kitchen is constantly pumping out delicious low fat/calorie recipes that taste anything but.

I find that I loose a lot of taste when I sub applesauce instead of butter/oil. I get a much richer flavor with low fat yogurt or sour cream recipes.

Also, have you tried making brownies with black beans (I know, I know, it sounds ridiculous), but the flavors just WORK. Here's my go to one: http://allrecipes.com//Recipe/black-bean-brownies/Detail.aspx .

Happy cooking :)

I was really disappointed in this recipe. They looked delicious and I gave them a try, following the recipe exactly (which is weird for me, because I usually add my own twists). The cookies rose quite a bit and were very cakey. They were like tiny muffins instead of cookies. The flavor was all there, but the consistency was so wrong!
Am I doing something wrong? Help!

Check out Peanut Butter and Co: http://www.ilovepeanutbutter.com/

They have a restaurant in Brooklyn that only sells peanut butter sandwiches! They have all sorts of fun varieties. My personal favorite is a Chocolate Peanut Butter and cherry jam sandwich, stuffed with shredded coconut. It's peanut butter meets black forest cake. Mmm! They'll even cut the crusts off for you :)

They also sell their flavored peanut butters (maple, honey, spicy, dark chocolate, white chocolate, cinnamon raisin, etc) on their website.
