Pepper chuck- your comment made me laugh. Thank you!

And to all, the terrible gifts remind us all that it really is the thought that counts. How wonderful when someone wants to give you something. Kids should be gifted that perception.

Didn't care for them until I came across the idea of filling them with stuffed animals. Now it is my favorite storage piece!

I turned my old spice rack into a "science lab" for my toddler. She loves to pick up small things when we take walks and by keeping them in the jars, she gets to keep her treasures and I don't have piles of rocks and seeds and sticks all over my house.

I know this has already been suggested, but I want to testify that we have had the same bath matt for almost 3 years now with no mold/mildew issues ever and we just put it in the tub for bath time and then suction it to the wall after the bath. I should also mention that our bath matt looks like a basket weave and is only one layer (may help it dry out).

I don't know what it was, but you could make it a magazine rack by taking rectangles of fabric long enough to go up over the bars of each shelf then down the sides and velcro the fabric ends under each shelf. It would keep your magazines in and add a beautiful accent.

I think either decision is fine, but my favorite thing about the infant car seat (which I haven't seen mentioned) is that on really cold or rainy days, you can get your tiny baby fastened into their seat in the warmth and dryness of wherever you are and then pop them in the car and go. It may not seem like much, but when those straps get twisted it can take forever to sort them out, especially when your fingers are gloved or freezing.

I guess it's already been said, but while the room is darling and the mural stunning, seeing that beautiful baby peepeing out of her crib melted my heart. Gorgeous!

I use a similar strategy even on days when I am doing a lot of cleaning (like when company is coming). I set a timer for 10 or 20 minutes and when it goes off, I move to the next room. Really keeps me focused on big picture cleaning and helps motivate me to get everything done in one time cycle so I don't have to go back to that room. Thanks for the motivation, think I'll go set my timer right now...

Excellent advice and this strategy is honestly the only way I can ever get my house clean.

I don't know if it would work for you, but I recently got a dresser that had a layer of fabric "fuzz" stuck to the top. After a good scrub with soap and water to get the big stuff off, I used rubbing alcohol and a rag and it dissolved enough of the varnish to clean off all the fuzz and left me with a beautiful clean smooth surface. I didn't even have to refinish it, just gave it a good coat of old english. Good luck!

I would love some projects to do with my kid that she could then give as gifts to her friends and cousins. Grandma appreciates handprints and messy paintings, but her cousins could care less!

Should I Stain or Should I Go Now? Good Questions | Apartment Therapy Los Angeles

My 22 month old has no problem sleeping 12-13 hours when she goes to sleep, she just doesn't seem to be on a 24 hour schedule. If she goes to sleep at 7 tonight, tomorrow it will be closer to 8, the next night 9 or 10 and so on until be are still awake at 5 in the morning (like last night). Cutting out a nap, just pushes nap time back to bedtime and she is up after about 2 hours. So, I've tried shorteneing nap time and trying to make her wake up at the same time everyday. Nothing seems to make a permanent change and every couple weeks I'm miserable. Any ideas?

Sleep Training Hotline: What's Your Story? | Apartment Therapy Ohdeedoh

For us the baby waker was a big brown lab who didn't bark, but seemed determined to make every noise possible (shaking his collar, yawning, bumping into the bed as he shifted positions in the night, scratching and even talking in his sleep) He woke the baby up so much the first couple of months, I thought his days as an inside dog were numbered. But the baby saved him. She got used to all the noise and even sleeps through barking now. I know this isn't much help, but if kids can get used to sleeping through trains passing by, the is hope for almost any pet. If things hadn't improved, I probably would have gone back to having my dog sleep in his cage. Would that be an option for your cats?
