I have used carpet tiles in my first apartment, and they were ok. Seams started to show after awhile - and the ones I had collected a lot of pet hair. In my second place, I found a really great indoor/outdoor rug with a sisal feel.

The secret is to make a stencil of the floor. Tape together sheets of newspaper, and trace/cut the shape of the floor ahead of time. Then trace your stencil on the back of your carpet (upside down, so that it's backwards), and cut it out. You should have a perfect fit, and it will be much easier than trying to do those cuts on the spot.

Yeah - I was totally thinking the same thing as J&H - could be brilliant... not that this isn't great

Unless there were some serious confidentiality issues (say a Tom Ford preview collection with Beyonce), I find the idea of "no photos" to be sort of laughable - especially at a celebration. No use railing against it.

Too short looks skimpy or cheap. It's like a dress - it shouldn't puddle on the floor, but it shouldn't awkwardly show your ankles either.

I don't understand the new overlap. For example, the story about recovering an old sofa appears on main, style, and diy at least. It seems like content should only appear on one of the subcategories - otherwise you have to search through each to discern what/if any content is new.

Mmm - perfect color. This brown, and saddle brown are so perfect.

The photos make it kind of hard to tell. But I like the idea of umber walls.

Made this for brunch today. It was a good flavor, but the texture was different than what I was hoping for. All of the eggs almost make it like an overly thick crepe. It was tasty - just different than anticipated.

The more time passes, the less I like color and the more I like texture. Now I don't feel at home unless there's a good mix of wood, metal, upholstery, leather, etc. The materials start to matter.

Love matte. Feels like more depth. I feel like gloss emphasizes the end of space.
