Adam Carolla puts them in his houses, but it's a smaller round hole+chute. Mostly to recycle beer bottles.

What the naysayers are posting makes sense, but I still like it. Sure, it can't survive during the winter or rainy seasons, but since it's not permanent, why not just put it away during those months. You probably won't be out on the "patio" during the winter anyway.

My main issue with this post is that they have their flat tv on a stand. I always thought the point of having a flat tv was so you could mount it on the wall.

I imagine that it would look 10x better mounted to the wall.

I don't think you're going to get a lot of readers up-in-arms about spoiling the ending of Celebrity Apprentice.

I use this mesh hanging file folder box (bought mine from Target, but couldn't find it on their website): http://www.amazon.com/Mesh-Coated-Metal-Silver-10-75/dp/B0000TQFHI/ref=pd_sim_dbs_k_3 that fits perfectly in my cubits shelving. Keep all my appliance warranties, instruction manuals, and receipts in there. One of the best moves I ever made.

I just buy the sheets of labels and print them out on the computer instead of using a labelmaker.

I would just go with whatever you use more; i feel like the environmental ramifications would be hard to gauge... kind of apples and oranges.

i think the uses are very distinct though... either you are the type that likes to cook a lot and will find more use from a range hood, or you are the type that microwaves food a lot and doesn't cook as often.

btw... those microwave vents always stink.

I try not to buy plastic water bottles too often, but whenever I do, I save them so I can fill them up with grease/fat before I throw them out. I suppose I should be recycling them instead, but oh well.

Cool coffee table.

Forget the rug. Upgrade your desk chair first.

OK Store (http://www.okstore.la/) has neat stuff; I would shop there more often if I was rolling in the dough.

Looks as cool as their Marvimon space, but I wonder about the usefulness of a giant rainwater tank in LA.

I've set up pretty much the same thing as this post, except in the center, I have a reed diffuser.

[IKEA] positions outlets far from city centers, where taxes are low and commuting costs high—the average IKEA customer drives 50 miles round-trip.

You mean they set up their stores where it's much easier AND cheaper to put up a gigantic 300,000 sq ft warehouse?!? No way! What jerks.

Liked the before more. But yes, why do you need to keep CDs accessible? All that fits in a 2"x4" box called an iPod.

Now if I could just get some help building my cassette tape cabinet.

For my money, nothing beats wall-mounting a TV. But please find somebody handy with tools to mount it to studs.

Really would have loved to see one of the color LA posters rather than the black and white.

Everything on that wall is so dark. I'd say pick a bright color that you like and throw around some accents. Some bright flowers or some fruits maybe.

I'd make the outdoor dining table the focus of the patio by placing it in the middle and adding some color to it with a durable runner and maybe some hurricane vases and large candles.

The lounge chair seems a little out of place for me. I'd move that up to the garden along with the picnic table/bench.

I'm with ayz. Just mount it, and if the landlord sees it, plead ignorance. Of course this is ruined if the guy already asked about it.

Mount it to the wall and fill it in with toothpaste when you leave.
