How do you not have strawberry shortcake on here?! It's probably my all time favorite dessert. I especially enjoy it with a good scone cut in half with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. simple & classic.

I make a version of this all the time - love it. although, I add a little hijiki (dried seaweed - soaked first). it adds a little bit of a "fishy" sea-like taste, which I know sounds weird, but it really works. there's a great vegan version of this recipe in "Vegan with a Vengeance".

lots of roasted asparagus and arugula salads!

abeen adding arugula, lemon and chickpeas in with pasta - the arugula wilts with the warm pasta and is nice and peppery!

was making a white bean and kale soup practically weekly. oh, and raw kale salads too with avocado and red onion! yumm.

cashew ricotta!!

it is my all time favorite pizza cheese-y topping. I throw a block of tofu and a cup of cashews in the food processor with lemon juice, olive oil, s&p & any spices/herbs you want - I usually just do a little basil. it is so freakin delicious.... try it!

chocolate truffles

they're a lot of fun to make! i make a vegan version, but there are tons of recipes online. you can add in flavored syrups like hazelnut or roll them in coconut flakes or chopped nuts.

I hardly, if ever, make curry. So usually will go out for Indian or Burmese, Thai, etc. On the other end, I love to make soup and I make a lot at a time so I'd feel silly getting soup at a restaurant.

some theme parties are just fine - it's just when you get into the "everyone wear a funny hat", silly dress-up parties, etc that it gets annoying & lowbrow. murder mystery dinner parties? ugh!
