I look forward to this challenge every year. I've never entered, but enjoy seeing all of the creative designs. I can't wait to check out the whole collection at my nearest DWR.

I purchased 4 boxes of FLOR tiles a couple months ago for a similar area rug. I was, and continue to be, horribly disappointed in them. They pilled, continuously look dingy and I'm having a terrible time with them pulling apart from even the lightest use. I hope this rug works well for you, but I'm, sadly, skeptical of FLOR now. And, it's too bad, because i was so excited about everything the company is about.

Also, did i understand that correct? you can contact FLOR directly and they'll send you boxes to return/recycle old tiles?

I love to iron and I iron like it's my job! (i'm a costume designer- it kind of is my job!)

I am the manager of a local coffee house and I am always interested in new (and old) coffee & tea accessories. I was recently given the rust colored wabi sabi mug for my birthday. It is incredibly comfortable to hold and drink from. I expect that anyone interested in both coffee and good design will feel the same way.

Thanks for all the great comments! We love finding new ways to outfit our space on a grad student and artist budget- the blue chair is from an awesome store in Iowa City, Iowa called Artifacts, just one of those finds that we had to have! We love the 50's tapered legs and the interesting shape of the splayed out arms.

We go back and forth about the book arrangement too, but we seem to like this current way for the aesthetic value of it- but of course it makes it tricky to find the book you are looking for if you don't remember what color the spine is! The books are all totally functional and while they are a bit of an obsession, they will continue to be in an arrangement where we can use them everyday!

The bedding is a handmade quilt by Mark's mom- we love it for its abstract quality (designed especially for us!) and of course the love that went into making it. I think painting the bedroom is next!
