Visually tie the counters into the rest of the apartment with accessories and some paint. For example, an accent wall or bar stools painted the same or shade of same color. Examples of accessories would be a throw and patterned pillows which feature a similar orange. For such a large space, I'd suggest using 2-3 large elements (e.g. accent wall + 1 artwork or patterned curtains + large, solid throw) and then small touches like clear orange vase, flowers or throw pillows which have just a touch of the same orange color.

Love the blue-gray visual element. It's a nice muted background for the orange to play of.

(BTW...didn't take the time to read the 62 other comments so my advanced apologies if these comments have echoed others.)

I tried and failed at this project. What follows is not a criticism of the post, but information I hope will help others who attempt it.

For me, the weak link of the hanging configuration were the eye hooks. Unlike in this post, I was anchoring them into dry wall, not wood. I did use dry wall anchors and I did try the eye hooks in two configurations, pulling head-on (as shown in the photos) and perpendicular to the eyes. Both times, the tension was too great and one of the eyes came out (and took the anchor with it) during the tightening of the t-buckle.

I was hanging a 9' x 12' drop cloth plus 21 drapery clips, which turned out to be quite heavy.

Also, the picture wire bit uncomfortably into my hands as I was trying to lift everything, straining to get the t-buckle to reach the second eye hook. Please keep in mind that picture wire unravels at the ends and the errant threads can become like a head of pins. I pricked myself at least half a dozen times trying to tie bowline knots at each end. Also, pulling the wire through the eye hook has the effect of curling it (like ribbons do when scraped with the barrel of a pen), making it more difficult to tie with each pass.

There's a lot more tension placed on the picture wire to keep it taut than I had imagined.

If I did have wood to anchor into and were going to attempt this again, I'd ask for a friend's help.

In the end, I got an adjustable curtain rod and happy will the end result.

Radiant heat fan. It'll provide warmth and dry out the air at the same time. I know this because I don't like using mine overnight as I wake up with dry nostrils and a dry throat. Suggest leaving it on (attended, of course) for an hour in the bathroom after a shower with the door open.
