I love the colors and the fantastic chocolate candy in mini spaceships but I have to agree the cost is too much. Then again she's a party pro and this went on a webpage so she's also promoting her expertise and creative prowess- money well spent if you ask me. I tend to think if you have the money spend it- the kid will have a great time no matter what but it helps to also impress the adults who come.

I LOOOOOVE THIS IDEA!!!! I saw it and thought- this is GENIUS! I could tell the set ups were super quick and did not disturb the cutie posing in her sleep. I just love that the materials are more "found objects" than model perfect Anne Geddes type costumes. I am inspired and so glad I got to see these! These are good enough to go on cards and onesies.

I don't think heels sexualize a baby- I think most normal folk would laugh or earnestly chide the Mom for buying them- perfectly normal reactions. But plastic Barbie heels for your 3 year old are another matter entirely since the kid has to actually walk in them and you can buy those anywhere.
The Office Kid thing is awful(ly funny)! Wouldn't it bee funny if 2 different people in the same office bought the kits and had to explain how the same kid was theirs?

I LOVE THIS IDEA!!!! LOVE IT!!!! Love it more because it's hand made!!!
Question- would fabric glue work better than tape? I can just see the wax paper falling after a particularly long dinner party....
Also, has anyone tried daylight balanced eco lights? You have the low wattage (23) with high light output (equivalent to 11 watts) plus it burns with much less heat so you don't have to worry about paper lanterns catching fire (or is it just me who worries too much?)
I wouldn't mind the evil comments. They say more about the person posting than the fabulous projects they are trying to hate on :)

I love this renovation! I like the idea of working with what you have and restraining the need to use jack hammers :)
I agree that the photos do look cold but I accept the owner's explanation that she wants a clean look and that the light makes the space feel homey.
I personally go for an orange warm wall colors in the kitchen but that would not go with the overall look for this project.
I love the granite counter tops and how all the small necessities like towel racks and knife organizers are on the wall so the counter is clear- that is the best idea of all.

I agree with this list!! I wish I hadn't bought the expensive round crib! I got it on Ebay because it's unique (and way cheaper than the grand it costs ay boutiques) but find I really want to buy more sheets for it but can't due to it's shape (DUH!)
I still wouldn't buy the sets sold in most stores though. I like to mix and match colors and patterns and you can't use the pillows, comforters with a newborn. Really, all I want is the fitted sheet and the crib skirt so I'm learning to sew.

Gimmicky products I actually use ALL THE TIME:
-Boppy (for ME!)
-Bumbo- I put it on the counter so my daughter can watch me wash dishes. I NEVER leave her side when using it.
-Swaddle Me blankets- my daughter fights her way out of all the regular sheets. Plus these are closed in the bottom so she can't wiggle down and cover her face in it.
-Ergo Baby carrier- I carry her around the apartment when she's clingy (usually when she's sick).
-Fisher Price Swing WITH car mirror- I attached a mirror intended for car use to the swing and she spends more time staring at herself on the swing.
Lorex Digital monitor- I use it to watch the baby while she sleeps. I keep it plugged in as batteries waste super fast.
- Huggies wipes- all other wipes are too thin or small

Things I did NOT use:
-All blankets- Baby inched her way into the blanket and scared the bejesus out of me one day.
-Heavy car seat- sucks in our 3 floor walk up.
-Ring carrier- hurt my back big time- gave it away
-Clothing without button on both legs or with head openings that don't open wide
-Changing "station"- I just changed baby in the crib and used a receiving blanket to block the poop. I stored the diaper cream, diapers and baby lotion in a cute box I got at the shower. The "station" was returned for disposable diapers- the cloth ones were wanted but I don't have a laundry in my building (or within 2 blocks).
Hope this helps someone.

This is so small and pretty- like a music box. I love the stone window arch. The red brick walkway is so inviting. I wonder if the owners ever wish they had more space so they could collect more garden art....

Love it- I don't have the restraint this couple shows- my apartment is full to the gills of things I find that I love- I think some color on the walls would be great but I understand the all white aesthetic they have.

I like the pink versions of these chairs. I understand the preference for wood or metal chairs but those are hardly green- if these white chairs were made from recycled materials they would be doubly awesome.

That apartment is beautiful!!!!! The light coming in from the window makes up for the smaller quarters- and the floor- beautiful. Congratulations on editing and great use of storage. It's great for 3 kids to share a room- it may lead to a few too many arguments but it also means everyone is encouraged to interact with each other and make compromises- that's what family is about. I also don't agree with giving over the large bedroom to the kids just yet- you deserve the space for peace of mind and you make the moolah so you get the space. If the kids start complaining you can always switch later but don't give up that mirrored side table- it's beautiful!
I shared all my life with my 2 sisters in what was supposed to be the dining room of my parent's apartment in the Bronx. Today I live in 400 square feet with my baby daughter and my husband- we gave her the room and got a murphy bed for the living room. We could have skipped the crib because she prefers to sleep next to us in her port-a-crib or in the baby swing. I would LOOOOVE to have a separate space for our bikes and the baby carriage but you can't have it all....

I have this sofa in the backless style. It's beautiful but I wouldn't recommend it if you plan to use it for watching tv or reading- it' not cosy enough. We've had it for 3 years and the middle is sinking in due to wear. We had an Ikea Ektorp sofa previously which held up really well for 6 years. I got rid of it thinking I wanted a more "grown up" clean line style. Also, the fabric is theoretically "washable" but dry cleaning led to faint permanent marks- overall not a sofa for a family. When I get my next sofa I will stay away from the beautiful yet uncomfortable mid century looking ones- especially now that we have a child.
