Yo Alana! I love reading your posts on AT.

This is an excellent question. The review was limited to 200 words, max. So that really crimped my offering. The book actually pissed me off, by setting my expectations at one level and delivering an entirely different one. I wrote the review weeks ago in the middle of moving. I will go and hunt through my book boxes, to find the book and to more clearly answer your question.

When you say "snobby by the font alone" do you mean, you would have passed it by?

Here's a nice pic in NYMag of a round amber dipped bulb~

'The Cooler Metallic' :

http://nymag.com/shopping/bestbets/30305/

the article states you can get the silver-dipped variety ($5.95 to $11 at Just Bulbs, 5 E. 16th St., nr. Fifth Ave.; 212-228-7820).

I am getting a "no longer available at shop.com and I can find no web page for "Just Bulbs". so I am off to check on 1000bulbs!

But for you lucky ones living in NY~ (according to NYMag) the E.U. on East 4th Street and Blue Ribbon Downing Street Bar in the West Village are using the amber-dipped bulbs~ so check em out!

The children's room has such a fun, yet open, easy, uncluttered feel to it. I think too often, I equate children and fun with colors and 'stuff' everywhere.

I love the cubicles in the mudroom/hallway! I am looking for something like that. Where did you find them?!

hejiranyc: are you really sorry?

Squeegee Beckenheim: you didn't mention which curtains they are.

Ikea has some choices in sheers. Mainly the sarita and the wilma, both of which come in a variety of colors. The wilma also comes in white. The Wilma is listed on the Ikea site as 98". But it also comes in 120".

The sarita also comes as material that can be bought. There are other materials, such as the 'brit' which would work. And you could buy one of Ikea's cable systems to hang the material. People also use the cable sytem as room dividers.

Ikea also has panels that are 118". The window panels have a system that creates fabulous looking dividers that allow for variety.

I love ikea sheers! I have the saritas in orange-gorgeous! and wilmas in torquoise: like a beautiful sky pouring through the window! But I want one of their window panel systems. They are smashing!

I should review this book!

There is nothing more exciting, than a design idea picture book and no one with a more critical, I mean discerning eye, than I. As I watch design shows, I can be heard giving colorful accounts of which ones are excellent and which ones are done by the producers' relatives. I may not be able to design as well as the experts, but I do a bang up job of separating the monochrome from the bloodless; the electrifying from the fried; the eclectic from the 'holy crap!': the crib from the crypt!

How timely is this!? I am moving next month into an apartment, with an unusual shape. I lie awake nights trying to imagine, how to style my new adventure. But I am, alas, one of those people who needs to see something done, in order to pick it apart and make it my own.

I view all things, with an eye towards, how can I do that? The practical application...does it translate to me? A fan of many styles and tastes, I am someone, who spends way too much of her time, redesigning all spaces she sees. Although a concept may not be my cup of tea, I can appreciate the ceremony of the presentation, the art of the of the offering.

Plus I have already looked at the online previews and pictures of the 'Design Idea Book' and I'm not sure I can move into my new apartment, without it. This book is the perfect tool for me and I, the perfect tool, for it.

Thank you very much and I hope I win.
