I followed your directions for quinoa and it turned out perfect. Thank you. It's one grain I love to use as it is so 'rice-ish', but more nourishing.

This suggestion will probably be seen as heresy, but I was thinking a pull up/down blind on the side with the a/c unit and floor to ceiling curtains/drapes on the other.

I understand that a dark bottomed pool is cheaper to heat as it helps absorb heat from the sun. Do you think that's true? I like the look too, just like amch.

I made a version of fabric circles one (last picture), using pictures from a childrens book (I like the colours!), but I made it for myself...it's hanging in my bedroom. I used an embroidery holder and double sided tape. Oh yes, and I got the idea from AT. Time? It took less than 30 minutes.

Thank you Tao_Geneva and KTS911 for the explanation about perspective in this picture. I had visions of people climbing over the table to get to their chairs! Oh, and the fan is lovely too.

I second brooklynbabe (above). Tropical theme would be gorgeous! Bright pinks, oranges, blues, greens for accents, and keep the background neutral for when it starts to look dated.

I like the print on the wall above the sofa, but it would look a lot better in a different frame I think.
Have fun! I look forward to seeing what you do with this space.

Thank you comicgeek. I couldn't find it without your clue. I find the face kind of sad though...don't quite know why. Maybe it's because it has to live with the double-shade lamp...

I would absolutely use plywood for design! Especially as forms for poured concrete. It transfers the patterns in the plywood onto the concrete, then stain or polish it. I mush have seen it somewhere years ago, and it's still one if my favourite elements of design. On a wall, or a floor, or.....

Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant. I was thinking they'd made them using some kind of font (what font are scrabble tiles, anyway?) and printed them. But simply enlarging the tiles? Now why didn't I think of that?
