Oh no! This means I have no excuse not to do the dishes that have piled up since the weekend.

As part of doing projects around the house, I've been doing this a bit already this month, and it gives a completely different vibe to the evening. Especially turning off the music--that's the hardest part, but it also serves as a distraction. I have several projects going (both cure and non-cure related) so this is a good push to focus on those tonight instead of vegging out with a book or TV.

Always sit where the cats sit to do this kind of thing...they love spots that are warm that let them see the entire apartment.

I have two cats too, but they usually leave flowers alone...however, my peace lily is just a bunch of stems thanks to one of the cats!

New bedding with this great fabric I bought at a sample sale recently.

A landscape gardener recommended to my sister, who has a herculean task ahead of her to get her ground ready for planting that she should lay down about 6 layers of cardboard, and then weigh that down with rocks or something. The cardboard will block the light, like the plastic does, but it'll also break down into the soil, instead of just lying on top like plastic so it's a more green alternative.

What about cleaning painted wood floors? I am never happy with how my floors look after mopping, I've tried everything, but they always look like there's a gray film on them when I'm done.

Oh wow, I have one closet and one kitchen cabinet, I'm in desperate need of help! I have always wanted to try using a professional organizer, I'm so curious.

And a discreet dart or two will help the fabric lie straight on the curved part of the chair (you might need this on both the back and the front).

Whoah. The link to the Cherry Wall Flower Lotus at SewMaSew is disturbingly different than the fabric in your picture (on my screen, the link fabric is a bright orange). It brings up a good point that I forgot to make when I entered my January Jumpstart project--ordering swatches!! That's one of the reasons I decided to go with Fabric.com, they were the only place from which I could order swatches (it costs a few dollars, but they send a nice big piece--about 10x10). Maybe I'm especially picky, but ordering fabric online based on the color on your monitor seems crazy to me! I don't understand why more fabric stores online don't make swatches available.

What about plexiglass instead of actual glass. It would probably provide pretty similar results for a lot less.
